hey everyone! I wanna ask if you play on nightmare and you have spirit and myling left as options:

Is therre any other way to detect a myling than it being les noisy in a hunt?

or easier way to find out the ghost type between these two without a hunt?

Myling can do sounds more frequently.

The Myling produces a paranormal sound (groaning/laughing/talking/whisper) on a Parabolic Microphone or a Sound Recorder every 64 - 127 seconds, instead of every 80 - 127 seconds for other ghosts.

Alternatively, you can try to avoid a hunt by smudging the ghost and then seeing how long it takes it to try to hunt again. Spirits take longer than other ghosts.

When Incense is used near a Spirit, it will not be able to initiate a hunt for 180 seconds instead of 90 seconds with most other ghosts

So I am playing solo against a shade atm. I just need a ghost event for a perfect run, I was at 75% sanity, so I did the ritual candles and it started a ghost hunt. Now I am at 0 sanity and 23 ghost hunts later and I still have not had a ghost event. Please, someone tell me what I am supposed to do here...

Shade can't do ghost event if u are in the same room as the ghost.

The summoning circle event counts as an event towards the objective, if that's what you're going for

A myling can still sing or make sounds of other ghosts or not? I think you can't hear them as much as the other ghosts when they are further than you is the way to find out? we did the smudge in ghost room, it didn't hunt untill almost 4th minute, but did 3-4 events (mist forms etc..)... Oh my god so damn confusing XD could it also be a sleepy myling that started hunting later? XD

just had a question regarding ghost interactions with objects.

we know a ghost has a radius around them in which they can interact with objects, but with items that have their own radius such as the T3 motion sensor, the crucifix, the book etc - how does the ghost interaction range apply to this?

would the ghost radius and the object radius only need to overlap with each other for the ghost to interact with that object?
or, would the ghost have to be physically within the range of the object itself.

in other words, would it work like a venn diagram?

Ghosts don't choose to interact with motions and crucis, it's a question of where the ghost physically is. Similar for the book: it has its own radius and the ghost has a chance for of writing when it's in that radius (not sure if throwing the book follows that or normal interaction rules).

so would that mean that the ghost model would have to be physically within the circle range of the object like motion sensor and book to have a possibility to interact with them?

but with the likes of the firelight, and other objects in the map where they have no stated radius - the ghost interaction radius would apply, where the ghost would have the possibility to interact with those objects, only when they are within the ghost interaction radius?

Really the ghost has to be in range for any of it, the ranges work differently (or are differently sized) depending on the object

like it can't throw a cup from across the house (unless maybe it's Twins)

The first point I was really getting at is the motions and crucis are like salt, in that the ghost doesn't choose to interact with them. For motions: they activivate when the ghost walks close enough. For crucis, they're activated if the ghost tries to hunt in the circle range.

Also somewhat interesting is that the range for normal interactions is actually a square around the ghost, not a circle, however, it rotates as the ghost turns, so it effectively creates a circular range.

has anyone been having issues with phasmo lately? Smudges haven't been working and if they have been they didn't complete missions like "repel the ghost with incense while it's chasing someone", my headgear broke visually and I couldn't see it. Motion sensors weren't working and weren't even picking up me walking past them or my friend, or the ghost. The video camera refused to record (aswell as the sound recorder) ?

I haven't had any problems before, this is just today/yesterday evening

Basically, I was on professional and the ghost had spotted me and it sprinted toward me at Mach 10 speeds, I panicked that I couldn't get into the locker, but then I heard it slow down and I thought it was a Deogen. The next time it started a hunt, I didn't do anything, and was absolutely flabbergasted at when it didn't slow down and it killed me lol

The music box methods involved an 8-9x custom with forced music box. You run in, use the box, find the ghost, have a chance to get Shade, do whatever tests you can (drop salt), and then get a hunt. You hope it's one of the ghosts that can be figured out during a hunt, then die to it on purpose (with kills extend hunts on), b/c dying doesn't affect your event points.

People doing this are very high level usually so they're not concerned with money

I'd say Justly and Leona's strat is the fastest, but you need to correctly identify the ghost only through hunting and without evidences

Make no evid difficulty, but add music box and 50 % starting sanity
Do as many tasks as possible, but don't get too hung up on them. Even 1-2 tasks are enough, you don't have to do 3 always

Tips: use t2 firelight for the fire task. Don't waste your time on ghost testings, if it's a default ghost on the hunt, then just guess random (mare, yurei, goryo and etc.)
