quick question about the "witness a poltergeist ability" steam achievement ? how does it work ? do you have to lose a certain amount of mental health/see at least "n" items thrown ? i've technically being assaulted so many times by items moved at the speed of sound by a poltergeist but never unlocked the achievement

Far as I'm aware you just need to be near it when the ability is used; you don't actually need to see it happen. That or it merely tracks the abilities used at the end of a contract, though I would expect KG to do the former.

That said, if the former is true then it probably does track the sanity drain as your way of "witnessing" it.

sanity cannot be literally translated in french it has to be put in a context despite "sanity" being ultra related to "mind, mental and brains" which in the context of phasmophobia is your mental health decaying since the ghost becomes more and more powerful the lower it becomes and use its powers to drain it

hi, we're playing phasmophobia with 4 and its been 3 days. Maps seems buggy. For example it says EMF Level 5, Freezing Cold and D.O.T.S. we find ghost's base, bring everything we can and check everything. Mostly just 1-2 of them works, other ones doesn't work properly so we guess like "It's Revenant!" go back to truck, select Revenant and boom TWINS. Even if we checked everything properly like 15 min we can't progress any further. We misguessed about 10 times in a row. We have a friend who's 21 Level on Phasmo, even he says there's a problem, its not right.

any guesses? Anyone experiencing issues w the game?

EMF / Freezing / Dots is Oni...so idk why you would of said Revenant. However, I do see what you mean as that don't fit the Twins ev. Had games do that to me and my team. Had activity of rev but answer was polti. if it's happening every game that's an issue. If it's occasssional it's just a bug. If someone says wrong ev then well...there's that.

So does anybody know how the darkness mechanic works in phasmo?
Like for example, if I'm in a room with the light switched on, and I'm in a dark corner, is that still concidered darkness, and it drains my sanity? Or does it not drain my sainty because the light switch is on? I know candles slow sanity drain, and in singleplayer for 200% sanity drain it's 7%/per min and in multiplayer it's 14%/per min

no. if there's a candle within 4m of it when it wants to hunt, it willl blow it out. Just like a cruci, will prevent a hunt.

if you have them seperated through the location with cruci's just right, can prolong a hunt. additionally, juggling fire on em all and placement is key.

every 3 firelight blow outs will cause a forced hunt which can be blocked by any crucifix tier or another candle in the range of the ghost

hmmm ok, i was doing no evidence but ran out of smudges, had Onryo, Goryo, Banshee, and and Yurei left to rule out, i took sanity meds so it wouldnt hunt and kill me. it moved rooms so ruled out Goryo, moved a door and didnt close it fully so ruled out Yurei, I put a candle on my last crucifix and it did blow it out 3 times and didnt burn the crucifix so i ruled out Onrya or so i thought. Couldnt get it to do the scream but had a ton of singing events so I guessed Banshee. it was an Onryo

Was in a nightmare game in Edgewood. I had found freezing early on a long with orbs but after it bombed me with a bunch of events, it went quiet.
After a while I noticed the temperature slowly creeping up. It never went back to normal but it did manage to get to half of the rest of the house.

And if the ghost is far away, try yokai

Thats done in 1 singular hunt

Cold slash freezing temperatures follow the ghost as it wanders if the ghost is being a little jerk and not staying inside of its room for long enough sometimes you don't get all the way to freezing.
