Can shade still write in the book while you're in the same room as it? The ghost room was the laundry room on Tanglewood and a second after I placed it down, the ghost wrote in it. So I crossed out Shade since it wrote in the book while I was in the room with it. Did it just happen to change rooms to the garage and then write in it from the garage radius or something? Turns out it was a Shade.

Guys I can't seem to figure out why or how but yokais seem to be extremely dumb and when you turn a corner they just start wandering or just completely forget you exist and recently someone in a public lobby figured out it was a yokai purely based on its targeting behavior. It was in cww, said player was behind the picnic tables crouching holding down radio while the ghost was coming out of yellow tent, there was another player by the camp fire, the yokai decided to target the player by the fire. HOW DOES THIS MEAN YOKAI I thought every ghost works like this but they kept getting yokais right simply by how they target/hunt. I've check the cheat sheet and google but I can't find an answer how do you get yokai just based on that?

Yokai doesn’t have any special «wandering» or «stalking» features during the hunt. If the ghost sees you, it will go to you or your last seen location as any other ghost, check it and continue wander away

so the way the Yokai works, is it’s called the “dumb” ghost (at least in my friend group.) normal ghosts have a 5 meter detection range, Yokai’s are half of that. they’re triggered by crewmates talking (in game chat) near them, and that’ll start a hunt. you can spam the mic, or have electronics on you, but if they’re not close enough (i believe within 2.5m range), they won’t detect you.

when ghosts begin a hunt, their ai has a set pathing that they follow. it’s interrupted by detecting a player, which if you’re not close enough to the Yokai, will just keep wandering

I just did a nm round with freezing and spirit, we put out three lanterns for onryo test. Almost immediately after putting them down all three blew out bam bam bam and cruci burn. I wasn't looking directly but I heard it. So I said to the team it was an onryo, and the other person in the room didn't correct me. But then it turned out to be a moroi and I was kicked for being wrong. Anyone know what happened there? The only thing I can think is it was a bug, or the other player blew out the candles themselves and the cruci burn was a coincidence.

It's possible the other person blew them out (I don't know why they'd do that, they placed 2 of the 3 lanterns) and I wouldn't have seen.

Yes, keep it simple. Keep a single lantern on top of a T2 cruci, keep relighting it. If it goes out twice under 20s, confirmed Onryo. If the ghost burns the cruci, confirmed not Onryo.

Having mod support is something the devs would need think about at the very start of the game's development - Phas was only one guy at the very start. It would take a significant amount of work, time and given they are still in early access overhauling the game's core elements, it would take time away from those.
