The readings come from things the ghost interacts with. Any 2 or 3 has 25% chance to be 5 if it’s evidence, so if you’ve tested a lot you can p safely say no.

If you need to drain sanity for an objective and don’t want to wait, or need a ghost pic, or event, or to rush a hunt it can do all these. But you do need to understand its mechanics first.

I see a lot of “advice” being avoid the objects, but I entirely disagree. They can be great tools if you learn how to utilise them, sand you can’t learn if you’re only scared of them.

Except for tarot cards, screw them, only use them for the collection in the lobby xD

Pre-0.9, a ghost could write and then throw the book.
0.9 book throwing was broken.
0.9.3 book throwing was fixed, and could only be done by ghost that can't/won't write.
0.10.0 books were closed when thrown.

idk if she did, but you should also remove all other interactable objects from the room, have low roaming and no room changing, so the book and doors/windows/etc are all it can interact with

It can certainly help you tell when the ghost is in the area of your DOTS, but the ghost also has to go into its DOTS state to be visible

The idea of having a noise indicator when in the area isn't awful.

But the way DOTs works isn't they are just in the area and are automatically always revealed if DOTs, they have to go into a "DOTs state" while in range of the beams, so they can happily wander through it and set off the motionn sensor but also not produce DOTs.

NGL it's one of the technical aspects I'm not fully informed on lol
