Hantu is double likely to turn off the breaker. The hantu is faster in places that its cold, usually the ghost room, but if it turns off the breaker then the whole house will be colder, therefore it will be faster, that's why it wants to turn it off. Also, with the breaker off the hantu will visually have cold breath if you look at it in a hunt

Some ghosts stalk you/a certain player so will follow them around kinda. Wraith can teleport to players and then start a hunt which might feel that way, but ghosts generally just hunt from wherever. Sounds like you are not using the directional audio to see where its about to spawn

Assuming you're not playing Nightmare or harder, there is at least a 3 second grace period when the ghost starts to hunt, where it starts to make noise/flash lights but doesn't appear yet. Basically any time that happens you need to run immediately. Don't wait around to figure out if it was an event or hunt.

Most ghosts speed up as they are actively seeing you, if you break their line of sight (around a corner or you crouch walk behind a chair/counter or something) then it doesnt actually see you so won't continue to speed up. Eventually it will catch up to you if you give it constant line of sight

There is a timer that starts each time you touch the light switch. Its per light switch per person. 10 seconds. Turning on a light starts it. Turning off a light starts it. So the strat for mare is, turn on switch. Wait 3 seconds. Flick off. Try another switch. Try another one. And kinda rotate through them.

Eg if the shade wanders into another room and the player is in the favorite room the ghost can interact with items in range; likewise if the shade wanders into another room and a player is in the same room, the shade can't do anything

So you got the 10 points for the ghost you get the one point for each point of difficulty you're multiplier is then the objective points and then the two points each bunny so those really aren't worth it. So you just want to get Ghost right, hope for some easy objectives (maybe cleanse, escape, survive or EMF) get it done get out if it's crappy objectives you might even want to let it hunt guess and let it kill ya then go again

Most important part is trying to have fun be it either the spamming objectives method or getting the ghost right, and honestly getting the ghost right adds on the difficulty multiplier so that could be a big chunk depending on what you're doing like is a x8 so that's 18 points if no objective done

I get the concept in the vaguest of senses: It's a big map so you're not gonna be near the front door. Locking wing doors provides add'l confinement and cuts down on your means of escape so you can't just lose the ghost in the huge map. But in practice it's not a great experience.

I don't know if this has changed, but last I heard staircases between 2 floors count either as top floor or bottom floor (I forget which one it is). So a ghost going up/down stairs is technically on one of the two floors, and if that floor is the same as the book it can reach through the wall and interact with it

The problem was that I was on one of the top floors of the lighthouse-- the one below the area that goes outside. So there wasn't another room for the ghost to go into without being on a different floor, and I was told the range of the book can't go to different floors

The shade is not allowed to write in the book if the player is in the same room. My guess is that the stairs in point hope are technically their own "room"/hall, just not one that the ghost can choose as a favorite room (like the SM hallways). So that top room in the lighthouse with stairs physically in the room probably functions kinda like how on Ridgeview that first living/dining area is technically multiple rooms even though there's no walls.
