That's why freezing can be a bitch to get some times, because a roamy ghost doesn't stay in the room for the temperature to go down to freezing.

@eternal yew when the power is off, the Hantu has frosty breath during the hunt, but when the power is on it doesn't give off frosty breath unless it's inside the favorite room, and Hantu's do not have LOS speed.

Not directly chance based as in a dice roll, but if you are unlucky and the ghost decides to stand still after stepping on the salt, then you won't get any prints, as the ghost has to actually be walking. Also the UV steps disappear after only a few seconds and don't linger like hand prints do.

Yes, NM is a pretty good step up in difficulty. You only get 2 evidence and you don't have the monitors. That's where you start to tell ghosts apart by behavior and hunts, and not just their 3 evidences

For everyone else, if the event didn't require such an obscene amount of points, people wouldn't feel the need to grind points in that way if it is otherwise obtainable through a few hours of normal gameplay

Just implement an event point death penalty on people who already have all the current event rewards. Done.

I dislike this argument, every time something that helps the players in a dubious way, it's "let people do what they want" this way if thinking just feels like a guilt trip for those who want to help suggest changes that make sense. I agree with Harleen in that death shouldn't reward points. I also agree that there should be additional ways of making points. Also, I do not believe heavy grinding was the intention of the Devs, because they're having the points carry over to next year's event.

its more along the lines of "why invest dev time and effort into putting in methods to nerf event point rates, when you already require a decent amount for casual players and advanced players don't get anything for going above and beyond".

Holiday events in games, from my experience, aren't meant to require a ton of player time investment to get their rewards. They're fun little ways to change things up and celebrate whatever holiday is going on. If the intent was to limit grinding, the best way to do it would be to make the level 1 trophy available this year and each rank available next year. Making all rewards available now is just capitalizing on FOMO because people will naturally want to get everything even if they'll have another chance in a full year.

I think that is already done, because you earn normal game rewards alongside those event points. If you make something a grind, players will look for the best way to get that grind over with as fast as possible. And if you nerf that method, they go to the next fastest method. Given the event is a "just for fun" thing I personally don't see the point in trying to clamp how fast you can get the points
