Keep playing professional. once you figure out the ghost each time, find that ghost on the cheat sheet, study it, then use that game to try to observe the traits, behaviors, and abilities with your own eyes. you will eventually start to recognize them more easily and frequently.

when you feel comfortable, bump it up to nightmare, and keep doing the same thing. bump it up to insanity, keep using cheat sheet, until you feel comfortable trying to identify ghosts when they give you 0 evidence

I was very close to beating it 4 times that I was mentally exhausted, so without a care in the world I walked in with my smudge stick, lighter, and photo cam, and B-lined to the female wing on the right side of Sunny Meadows as it was a guess.

So as I entered that section, the ghost starts it's 2nd hunt as I see it running towards me since my brightness was at max with my fps mode screen setting on my ROG laptop allowing me to see in the dark. So I took a picture first getting the photo on my first try as I then smudged, but at the time I noticed that it sped up when I had my camera out as it then slowed down after putting it away so I knew it was a Raiju as I hid in the room praying it doesn't find me, and by luck I survived that hunt. Though unfortunately I then realized I needed the last objective which is to witness a ghost event since I got the ghost photo and escape the ghost objective done, and literally by insane luck the Raiju does a ghost event in the same room as me as I immediately walk as fast as I can out of this hellish place, and survived getting my golden trophy. I was unbelievably happy lol.

so you want to be hidden, and get a yokai somewhere between 2.5 and 9 meters away. then use your radio. if the ghost hears you and comes straight to you, it is not a yokai. smudge it and get out of the hiding spot. if the ghost ignores you and keeps roaming randomly, it is a yokai.

If a yokai gets too close to you when you use your radio, it will hear you (within 2.5 meters) and come for you, so make sure it isn't too close before you try testing otherwise you will get a false negative result.

You will know it is within 9 meters when the radio has been staticky for a few seconds, because radio static starts at 10 meters (except for raiju, it's 15 meters, bonus info)

Ah ok. I think I got the Myling nailed down.

There is a sweet spot on Tangledwood for identifying it, but you really have to focus on the one line.

It's awkward if the ghost isn't in the basement.

eventually you'll be able to "feel" how quiet it is. moment it spawns for first hunt, "myling, let's go"

I haven't faced a Myling on 0 evidences in a long time, so just needed to iron that out.

Garage is a better spot to test for most ghost types.

Mimics can also copy Onryo behavior too with the candles lol, sneaky mimic I had since it mimicked normal ghosts.

Yea. I sometimes forget to check for orbs as that's the last thing on my mind.

I usually get mimics that do interesting things lol

oh orbs i always check first, i first carry a thermometer, EMF reader and crucifix, so find the room, place the cruci, now im safe, afterwards i grab the camera, dots, and books and check for orbs, dots and ghost writing

and once i have those down, i grab things like motion sensors and salt and stuff

I play 0 evidence, 0 sanity on 10.15x multiplier

So I am doing hunt tests, and then I go to the ghost room to do additional tests if there isn't anything note worthy during the hunts.

So that's why mimic orbs are the last thing on my mind since during the couple hunts of testing, the mimic would mimic a ghost type that is very obvious.

Then I would immediately notice the difference between that hunt to the previous hunt.

It's broken unfortunately, but the only way to decipher it is by the very odd stutter steps that visibly effects the ghost which indicates that it changed models.
