Jumps at you = -10% sanity
Turns gold = starts a hunt

if i have a lit candle in the ghost room and an onryo tries to hunt but it fails because of the flame, does it blow it out, just like a crucifix would burn for other ghosts?

It does not cause the 25s cooldown that a cruci does, but otherwise, yes. An Onryo that tries to hunt near a flame will blow out the flame and prevent the hunt

Correct. If I'm dealing with a potential Onryo in hunting range, I like to keep relighting the candle (don't worry about counting). If the ghost is not an Onryo, it will be able to burn the cruci while the candle is still lit.

Also, Onryo is the only ghost that can blow out the same firelight twice in under 20 seconds. That alone can make ID'ing them very easy

the activity meter in the truck is more nuanced. In short, you're looking for single jumps of 4-5 on the activity meter, but you need to make sure it's not from events, abilities, and ofc hunts. For newer players I'd only try to use the monitor as a last resort.

Right, it helps to think of it in terms of the T2 EMF, which has a level of EMF1 just from being on. So a throw (EMF3) is +2, and it's randomized +/-1, so the board will show a jump of 1-3 from a throw.

Believe so. But I’m not quite sure what you mean. You mentioned the camera being off and now you meant the DOTS? If the DOTS is off pretty sure it could still go in DOTS mode but it wouldn’t be seen at all then.

On the last ~two days, the game wouldn't capture any audio from my mic. A wild mixture of Alt+Tab, then back to game and switching between voice/system voice/text (hitting apply a few times while switching) usually solved it.

Yeah basically just play the hardest setting you do quickly and reliably.

I've been doing a 10x setting with normal speeds, b/c I can do 0ev but not as instantly as the Justlys of the world.

if you're not like these speed runners you can do it fairly quickly too 3~4 minutes per map with a 100% success rate as long you do things "hasty" should be enough
