I think you've misunderstood the earlier conversation entirely. There was a separate complaint about Bleasdale having "godspots" - spots where the ghost can't reach you, even if they detect you. I said that this wasn't a failure of QA but rather a matter of them tackling the high-priority, critical issues first, ones that are likely to be encountered by a lot of players. There wasn't anything more than that, I was just explaining why the map would release with godspots that QA might know about - because they're not 'delay the entire map' level of gamebreaking.

An 'unofficial hiding spot' is just any place, anywhere within bounds, where you're hoping the ghost won't find you but isn't an official hiding spot that can be blocked by the custom difficulty setting. There's nothing special or bad about these, any random corner can be an unofficial hiding spot. A common complaint was that a lot of the more reliable and well-used ones (Tanglewood changing table, Edgefield hallway cabinet) are much, much more risky as a result of the unintended LOS is.
