Usually this happens due to the range of either the cruci, ghost, and the candles and people dont realize that when testing an onryo. Theres a chance the banshee was just gonna hunt randomly do due RNG.

me and my friend is in van and we just watching the activity and its doing weird 1 spike activity and now it went up too 10 for like 5 seconds

The best thing I can say is 3 candles (1 of the T2 candles doesn’t count for 3), put them around the cruci, and wait until all 3 blow out. There can be a delay before hunting after blowing all 3 of the candles which is usually between 6-7secs.

The onryo will usually blow out them quickly if there’s less players the more that’s dead the more it’s active

Is there any settings that i can turn on to reduce flashing of the lights? the only solutions ive come up with is breaker off and making my friends use dots when im not in the room. (Any advice welcome)

also, lets be real, it is not "your own fault". unless you spend a shitload of time researching how the game works in places like this discord, have the cheat sheet open, or watch countless hours of youtube, for the most part you have to guess on what ghost abilities are. Ghost abilities are almost entirely a black box for those who simply go based off the information available in the game.

The most annoying ghosts imo are mare and goryo. Mare cant turn on lights but i feel like ghosts rarely turn on lights in general, and the only unique ability it has is one that requires it to decide to use it IN RESPONSE to the player doing something, which makes it way harder to get than something like banshee scream or yurei slam. And then goryo dots requiring you to be out of the room would be fine except it feels like it takes forever for dots to happen when youre not in the room

Yeah, it's an order of operations thing right? It just happens to be that Twins checks for a crucifix before it rolls on whether to hunt at its current location or at the last far interaction

but yeah, the community at large was almost entirely convinced that the intended behavior of a crucifix was that it triggered based on where the hunt actually starts

I wish I could but my mic doesn't pic up for ghosts in the game unless I used the text/speech thing for spirit box. So it's usually how I test for yokai. The issue with it is i can't move when i'm using it that way. (this has been an issue on both of my computers no matter what settings I have on. People can hear me no issue, spirit box/other stuff in game doesn't work unless I use the text options.)

Yokai's hunt behaviour works with any electronic, not just Spirit Box. So use your radio

Using your voice is slightly better since it has more detection range (so the difference is more pronounced), but using text recognition for something like the spirit box doesn't count as voice anyway.

The same thing applies to the Yokai's hunt threshold - it won't increase if you're speaking via text recognition

Problem. It initiates a hunt. Its forced out of dots state. But between it deciding to hunt, cruci check and actually starting the hunt the dots form is somehow started again. Its such a short windows for it to occur.
