The idea is that you let the ghost see you from more than 12 distance away and see if it becomes audible before you can hear the heartbeat. I never do it and on maps like Tanglewood, Edgefield, Point Hope I question that there's even a reliable sightline

Only way to successfully confirm myling on tanglewood is to be outside when it's hunting someone else inside

This is how I find out if it’s a myling, I turn the flashlight on and put it down next to me in a hiding spot. If I only hear the footsteps when the light flickers then it’s a myling. If I hear the footsteps even before the flashlight flickers I cross off myling

Before prestige existed XP just kinda went up infinitely without scaling. They did an update that added prestiges and levels and proper unlocks. Everyone got reset to level 1, but if you had played before it you got prestige 1, level 1 instead - so you didn't lose any maps or difficulties
