depends what you mean by "confirmed." There's basically confirmation that the interaction range is a box. Testing and math confirms that box extends 12m from front/back and sides of the ghost, with a maximum range of about 17m at the corners. B/c it turns with the ghost, this creates an effective radius around the ghost at that range.

i have realized how much i dislike the level 2 UV just because it slowly gets less powerful and you have to shake it. with the flashlights you can just toss it on the ground while its on and lead a hunt over the salt and see if it leaves footprints. with the glowstick you have to pre-shake it right before the hunt.

Very late response, just reading through this.

If I may add some clarity. The cheat sheet (which has been up for 2.5 years now), originally started as sharing dev provided information only. If it was in the patch notes, in the discord, or from a dev stream, it got added. And for a very long time we stood by the idea that we should provide data for how the game is intended to be, rather than how it actually is (we figured it would be fixed in-game eventually). Which is why the yokai music box data stayed on the sheet for a time. But not just the yokai music box, but the 6.66% blink for obake, the interaction radii, etc.

About a year ago we made the decision to try and balance what is intended vs how it actually works, and we started really diving into the info and testing everything we could. And at that point we realized that there were enough bugs impacting some of the tells that everything needed to be tested. This lead to the removal of some data points (including yokai music box) and the rewording of many others. Even more recently we have started really testing everything, which has lead to the warning symbol on some of the data as what we have observed differs or is not confirmed, but is backed by hours and hours of testing. Obake blink patterns, normal and twin interaction radii, shade not blowing out firelights in the same room as the player while hunting, etc.

The game is continually evolving, and the cheat sheet with it. We don't have access to the code, and some data is really hard to test, which forces us to take the devs' word for it until testing can be done.

I really do appreciate this response. My original comment wasnt really meant to critizise the cheat sheet, but more to bring people to test things forthemselves. I did not know about this change in "policy" ig, but i have seen that you guys do test a lot of stuff, for example on your youtube channel (fire videos by the way). The yokai music box thing was just something that i noticed, and thats why i said the cheat sheet is almost always correct in my original comment, the debate just got really heated. The cheat sheet is really good, it helped me a lot, when i wasnt as knowledable and you guys are doing a lot of good for this community. The decision to show how it actually works was a really good one in my opinion, but i still think that people should test things for themselves, because maybe things work differently to what the community originally thought.
