yeah the lower you get below the hunt threshold, the more likely all ghosts are to hunt, so you can easily end up in that situation. besides taking meds, also get a cruci down in the ghost room once you know where it is. Professional has a 3s grace period, and the ghost will use the same hunt sounds throughout each round, so once you've heard the sound once, you know what to listen for - and when it means you need to book it out of there.

for looping:

1. depending on where you are looping, crouch (most of the time, other looping spots need you to stand up) so the ghost doesn't see you and speed up during the hunt
2. keep eyes on the ghost at all times so you know when to smudge
3. don't use your sprint unless the ghost is about to come around the corner of the looping spot and see you
4. don't let the ghost see you (to the best of your ability), keep the ghost 2 corners away from you in the spot you're looping (like corners of the counter)
5. keep your body against the thing you're looping around (counter) so you have less distance to travel

Smudging does the following to every ghost (assuming tier 1 smudge)

1. Makes ghost blind for 5 seconds (and can't kill you) (7.5 seconds if the ghost is a moroi)
2. starts a background timer of 1 minute 30 seconds, that timer must expire before the ghost can try to hunt again (timer for demon is 1 minute, for spirit is 3 minutes)

If you need to smudge, smudge, don't let it kill you because you want to see how far you can push it lol (save that for later experimentation)
Always smudge for others even if you might accidentally waste a smudge.

When looping Ive seen people try to crouch, my issue I find is that I lose track of the ghost cus I cant see and it ends up either switching to go the other way or catches up to me because I stopped moving cus i thoguht it was gonna switch

yeah this depends on where you're looping at. if in tanglewood kitchen, assuming you have some lighting, you should be able to see taller ghosts over the top of the counter.

My preferred looping spot for tanglewood is the dining room table, as you can't crouch there (the ghost will see you anyways) and i can always see it unless it's one of the crawling fuckers. For this spot you stand up, keep pressed against the table, and just use a little tiny bit of sprint on the long sides of the tables, maybe once you've passed the halfway mark of the long sides, tap sprint to get the rest of the way around the corner.

When I loop, i strafe, left or right only, never forward and backwards.

My 4 looping tips: 1. Stay crouched to prevent LoS speedup, 2. Only use sprint a little at a time to not run out, 3. Keep your eyes on the ghost in case it doubles back, 4. Be aware of the trashcan so you don't get hung up on it.

You have to learn your surroundings so you can maneuver around the looping spot while watching the ghost

if there was an empty slot in your lobby when you hit start, most likely someone else joined to fill that slot the moment you started the game. you were stuck in the truck with no equipment until they left the lobby, because all they could see was an empty board. then when you finally got out of the truck you noticed voice chat wasn't working. this has been reported already in great detail with a method of reproduction. should be easy to reproduce. it's a race condition so solution may not be simple to find.

and when map elements are missing it's usually a cheater moving things around

Yeah a lot as changed. If you see cold breath in the van you can turn breaker on. The rest of the house will heat up and only the ghost room will remain cold. Seeing breath no longer means freezing

each prestige will reset your levels and money. they probably gave you prestige 2 as compensation for what you lost when they changed your levels. I think you should have a plaque next to a door in the lobby showing what your former level was too.

Well first of all EMF4 always means that it's a ghost event if you're talking about the EMF reader if you're talking about the screen why do we even have that on zero evidence and that fluctuates a bit so you can't always choose it and the gate is close enough to the truck for almost any ghost to possibly cause interference I would just go with the make it hunt and throw some equipment down to see if it gets faster around it,

if you clicked the reset save button in settings, you're shit outta luck, but if not, you might be able to message the modmail or tech support (i forget which one) and they may be able to restore it through steam cloud. if on console, nothing can be done because they don't have access to xbox/sony servers like they do for steam

itll touch something near the ghost, then use the noodle arm to touch something distant (up to 8 meters), when the noodle arm is used, it remembers the location of the item it touched, then when it wants to hunt, it'll do a coin flip to decide to hunt normally or hunt where the last noodle arm touch was. noodle arm hunt will be fast twin speed, normal hunt will be slow twin speed

also good to note that the Player.log file gets reset every time you start the game, and there will only ever be one backup made. each time you start the game, Player.log gets renamed to Player-prev.log, and a new Player.log is created. if you restart the game twice, you lose the logs you were looking for. this is mainly important for reporting cheaters as you can't simply reproduce the cheater if you lose the logs, but you can reproduce a bug and get it to show up in the latest logs again.

it's on consoles, a little buggy, there are temporary fixes you can use if you experience bugs. important to note, the system consoles use for voice recognition is called VOSK. this is on PC too, however PC users also have "system voice" which uses Windows voice recognition.

VOSK is super strict with how it recognizes phrases. System voice on PC is NOT strict which is how the pickles question is able to be asked, among others. console only has VOSK, so phrases basically need to be exact.

Freezing is determined by the ghost hanging out in the room + having it as evidence. If it’s in the room long enough and has freezing evidence, it doesnt matter if the breaker is on or not. T1 Thermo it needs to show below 0 because of the wiggle, T2 and T3 Thermo, freezing is below 0.9 🥳

you're already connected, it'll mainly just prevent new connections to the servers

so if you had the game started before the maintenance you're good but if you restart it'll say connection timed out because the login servers are down (most likely scenario)

people who can identify most ghosts on 0 evidence customs use it to speedrun and grind XP, very effective, 12.97x multiplier. strategy is to go in for one hunt, ideally get as many of the optionals done as you can during that hunt, then leave with your guess on the ghost. the more you get right, the more money you get. minimum time spent in the game, maximum payout for the effort
