`If you're on Xbox please try this until they bring out a hotfix update
There's been issues with Xbox users with their voice recognition but they (QA) did post

"Swapping back to Voice Recognition Mode: TEXT for now will help until we are able to get a hotfix out."

If you're on PS5 you could try that as well and see if it helps with your crashing issue since the update
If you would like to see minor updates to this issue if something changes, you can find info from the pinned post in tech support by the QA :)

**If you're having issues with voice recognition and not crashing per say, give this a try **
Potential Console Voice Recognition fix:

• If in a game, exit back to the lobby (changing voice recognition won't work mid-game and can break it)
• If voice recognition is enabled, disable it and apply
• Go back and turn voice recognition on and apply
• Enter a game and test it

Note: VOSK only supports basic questions such as "Where are you?", "How old are you?" and "Are you friendly?" for spirit box and "Where are you?", "Where is the bone?" and other basic questions for ouija board. Yes, this means you cannot ask "Do you like me?" or the "How many pickles" question.

Voice recognition could be a bit buggy on PC its been like that for awhile from what I see in tech support. If you wouldn't mind making a post ( #1082421799578521620 ) including your player log I can take a look just to make sure its not due to a file or GPU specs. time out calling the ghost to you. smudge, take a couple of photos, smudge again. if you timed it right, hunt should end pretty quick after.

Ghost event is even more unlikely to see as it's a big map and you need to be within the range of the ghost for it to trigger the event

Only way is the photo during hunts

You can usually knock out most ghosts in one hunt just by checking for speed. If normal speed, check for blinking, loop for a sec and then smudge and do a myling test once you've hidden far enough. Smudge timer and there goes the majority of the ghosts.

To add another, get it to run through salt

I went straight to apoc 3. I found that a massive learning curve for me. You adjust to 150% speeds super quick anyway. You'll do completely fine.

honestly the way i did it, i just restarted if:
A. The ghost wasnt anywhere near me after the first hunt
B. If it was normal speed
this worked for me but if youre more confident with normal speed ghosts then you can skip this

ghosts like thayes, deos, revs, hantus, morois are easy to tell on apoc

Saying its name has never done anything with Spirit box, you have to ask the correct questions as well as the other cursed items, "check wiki for questions". if you're on console not crashing then go to a private multiplayer lobby and check if mic is working there in menu. you have to say the questions slowly and clearly.
on ps5 i got everything to work as long as the game IS hearing me.

Yes it is make sure that your mic is completely working you might have to go to a private multiplayer lobby so you can see if that bar is moving when you pick up the cursed item or the spirit box I would test with the Ouija board you must speak clearly and slowly I've gotten every question to work as long as you speak clearly and slowly and don't try to ask any question that the game doesn't understand like the pickle question.

If you are actively trying to use Spirit box there's always been even in the PC version this kind of emergency works anyway function. It was mostly with voice activation or if you're queuing up your microphone

If your game is not reading your microphone correctly then it will give an automatic response eventually with the same parameters
