With the existence of lights, seeing in the dark isn't all that much of an advantage anymore. Irl, any lucrative method of using nightvision would likely be dangerous, and your advantage would be nullified with infrared cameras like commonly on security cams

When it throws the ghost notebook, you can cross out ghost writing. The ghost is rejecting it and telling you its not one of its evidence

A thrown book should still be checked for writing. Just because it's thrown doesn't mean it wasn't written in, unless you know it was thrown when the book was blank.

If you can achieve nightvision by broadly changing your pc settings, I wouldn't consider it cheating. Some people can just use weird settings and have it on all the time. Anyone can do it, so it's not an advantage. If it's something that is specific to phasmo and extra effort has to be put into getting it, then I would consider it cheating.

My argument of why its not cheating would be: (And not in the bullet order I asked earlier)

1. The game already allows you to change your brightness, and while not as well as filters the game already allows you to see better.
2. There's nothing inherently "unfair" about being able to see better. You still need to find evidence the same way, and there's no ghost that is immediately obvious or more obvious with or without seeing better.
3. "An advantage over other players" wouldn't be totally true as with filters there's obviously levels to it, you wouldn't be able to see the game fully bright without also being blinded by lights and night vision.

Also this topic again is really making me inclined to make a full thing about every reason for and against it

It is a valid argument if the thing they are doing applies to every program they are using. Cheatengine is a third party app that specifically targets certain programs to edit them. No one just has cheatengine installed by default. Messing with your pc and monitor's generic display settings is something that is inherent to owning a pc and display and not cheating.

The way you do it, if you have custom difficulty selected do:

• ~150% player speed

• Ghost events set to low

• 150% ghost speed

• Roaming low

• Monkey Paw

• Activity level high

Once you have those settings done jump on camp woodwind restricted and once you load in, grab a key and flashlight turn it on, enter the map, grab monkey paw, sit by front gate, if after 20-30 seconds nothing happens wish for activity level and if it doesn't hunt after a minute quit and keep repeating, it will take a few attempts but it's to increase the odds

Spirit Box

The Spirit Box is one of the main evidence pieces in Phasmophobia. The purpose is to communicate with the Ghost, and aid in the investigation. Activate it by using your Right Click button (default).

How to use the Spirit Box is as follows:

Functions

1. Activate the Spirit Box and walk around in a dark room. While pressing either local or global voice chat, ask it questions.

2. The Spirit Box's responses are represented through icons and dots; if the X icon or red dot lights up, no response - If the Ghost icon lights up or white dot, the Ghost is speaking.

3. Try asking it questions like, "Where are you?" or "How old are you?" Icons lighting up during a Hunt does not count toward its evidence.

I do custom games. But I also used to enjoy the weekly challenge mode so it's a bummer that after 3.5 months since console release, they're still catering it only to brand-new players instead of mixing things up to keep it fresh for players of all experience levels. I used to do the challenge modes when I first started playing and only having 1 evidence or super fast hunts or whatever as a brand new player was also fun because I could test it out without having to lose any equipment or money. Did I always succeed as a new player at completing the harder weekly challenges? No, but that didn't ruin the game or take away from the fun of trying
