The system has been largely built on the back of confirmation bias. You call the ghost a twelve-day-old scone (without butter), the ghost immediately hunts and kills you and you remember that forever even if it was a coincidence

If you're pretty sure that you're in range of electronic detection and it's deaf, that could indicate a Yokai!

But it might be harder to get it close for a photo in that case.

Gradual - and they lose LoS acceleration much more gradually than they build it.

If a ghost builds up enough acceleration they can be fast for a while, frequently to the end of the hunt

For ghost events, a ghost will typically teleport to the room a player is in to event to it. Goryo is no different there.

Ghosts will target a player and teleport to them when they manifest for a hunt. For Shade this can be confusing, because they can't event if you're in the same room as them - but if you're not in the same room as them, they can event to you. So the Shade was in another room, and then evented on you.

As far as I know Shade isn't bugged but it's always been a problem child.

If you don’t have hearing issues, I find that to be the best indicator of where the ghost is, helping me find it quicker. Particularly on larger maps, I’ll bring the parabolic mic in with me to find the ghost faster, but if you’re walking through Tanglewood and you hear a plate/cup get thrown, you know to look around the kitchen/dining room area. I bring spirit box in early since you need to be there to try it (rather than setting the book down and leaving it there). EMF can also help find what was thrown/touched to help you find the ghost faster as well. So usually I go in with spiritbox, EMF, and something else (usually video cam or parabolic)

if you were COMPLETLY outside of the house it cant hunt if it did while you were still in the house just away from it its a possible shade

If it's burning only when you're OUTSIDE, take the crucifix out and stand in the room. If it doesn't hunt you within the ROOM after maybe like, 2-3 hunts, it's a shade.

Can be. Just keep in mind that shades can burn the cruci in the room you're in when the crucifix range is a bit outside of the room, the shade roams outside and THEN tries to hunt
My test for a Shade is that I put stuff in the very back of the room, stay in said room and if it does throw something, I cross out Shade

Nono. That is NOT a Shade. A Shade will never interact with stuff if it is in the same room as you. So let's take the nursery on Tanglewood as an example:
You throw EVERYTHING in that room in the corner next to the window and you stay in that room. If the ghost throws any of the items in the back, it is NOT a Shade because it can't throw stuff when it is in the same room as you. And because the items are in the back, the Shade can't hust roam outside to throw stuff
