the ghost is an invisible but "real" model. so it depends on where it roamed to. it can hunt right after events as well, so if it events to you and then hunts it'll start there.

If you have a ghost that likes to follow players (Wraith, Banshee, Phantom) they can hunt directly on top of you some distance from their favourite room

that's why it can be wise to hold F when placing crucifix, so you can try to maximise the area they cover

i like to have one cruci in the room covering at least the doorway/where we place all the evidence, and one behind us so the ghost cant trap us

If you're low sanity and a ghost hunt is a threat, then you should always have incense on hand, in my opinion. Still, sometimes you can get surprised by sanity drainers or early hunters, so when the ghost starts hunting be prepared to use the grace period to break line of sight and run for a hiding spot.

If a ghost hunts and you have no plan and no exit, you die.

Best way to identify a demon unfortunately requires an incense my friend. Literally as you smudge, start a timer. If they hunt after 60 seconds but before 90 seconds, it's a demon.

Does only the first smudge count for the smudge timer or should I take the time of the most recent smudge I’m hearing differing answers
