That's the thing people have to be careful of. Just because a ghost is throwing a heap of shit doesn't mean it's a polty. It has to throw multiple items at once, that's the key for it

I held a UV on a door and I watched a "5 finger print" turn into a "5 finger print that looks like scratch marks" Is this a thing? or did he just touch it again?

Any ghost can do shadow events how many times it wanted. It doesn't tied to the ghost in particular. However, there are some ghosts in particular that prefer to do this kind of event frequently like in case of Oni where it likes to fully manifest itself and the Mare prefers to break lights but they're not the absolute indicators.
