Demons can choose to not hunt, just like any other ghost. As for Yokai, it's not guaranteed to hunt when you speak to it, more likely than not it'll do nothing. Other times it'll do these things more frequently

Because the cells on either side count as one room, but they aren't directly connected, what I find is it makes the ghost have to move through the center more, making that colder aswell
