you can use any cursed object you want to force the ghost to "do as you command"

You just get to choose the way you want to get the ghost to do something you can use the mirror take some pills you can use the circle get the event you can use the paw if you wanted you can use the mirror take pills and then use the voodoo doll to get it to do EMF/uv tests

Just different ways to figure out the ghost! Some people like to try it by hunts only, or using the voodoo to force interactions to hear on the paramic. Or if they're pretty good at telling apart the different rooms, using the mirror 🙂

Only T3 crucifix prevents a summoning circle hunt. It also could be the ghost was hunting and it got teleported to the summoning circle when you finished lighting it.

Another way is looking for different behaviors. Mimics will change what ghost type they mimic throughout the game and if in one hunt it’s a deogen and in the next it’s a hantu you’ll know it has to be mimic

Remember there can be an up to 6 second delay after the 3rd candle blow out! It's usually pretty fast though.

A super simple Onryo test is to place a crucifix in the ghost room, and then light a firelight in your hand (right clicking on PC) and place it on top of the crucifix

Every time it goes out, pick it up and light it on your hand again

When it gets blown out the third time, you should see the crucifix burn up pretty soon after if it is an Onryo

You could relight the firelight by pulling out your lighter, but this runs the risk of the Onryo blowing out your lighter without you noticing.

I'm not sure which mechanic exactly makes Shades and Mares roam away from rooms with lights/players more frequently but since the odds of a roam being long or short are always the same (game settings), I'd say roaming in general is increased. Obv a room change won't happen unless it long roamed.
Just an educated guess.

Temps going down in a room is associated with the ghost’s physical location so if the banshee is constantly trying to hang out with you and be BFFs, it definitely could lower the room temp quite a bit

If you wanna try out how eye adaptation works, try putting your player camera directly in front of the motion sensor lights, you will notice the vision gets darker until you turn away from the light

And the other cases is when you enter a dark room (ingame) you will slowly see better

actually it can happen. if you are somehow standing next to a door, it can hunt from the other room and can kill you instantly

my strat against shades on multi is by stationing multiple people into the neighboring rooms

A shade cannot do anythignwhile you are in the same room as him. But if you are right oitside his room he can spawn inside your face since its not the same room

i wish for knowledge on the paw, it crosses off all ghosts except the speedy ones and goryo

u can just get it to hunt instantly then use monkey paw for knowledge... the info you get from the paw + what u observe in the hunt is usually enough to figure it out
