Take the time to learn how each ghost is unique but especially learn the equipment

Once you turn on breaker flip on lights in the ghost room and other rooms you plan to be in to reduce sanity drain, place one cruci in ghost room and keep a smudge on you just in case, identify hiding spots just in case

The journal is also super helpful reading the descriptions of the ghosts helped me quite a bit.

One good thing to keep in mind if you are playing on Amateur or Intermediate difficulty, you have a setup timer (5 and 3 minutes respectively), which means the ghost can't hunt during that time. You can see the timer on the wall in the truck. But if you use a cursed posession the timer is immediately set to 0.

I'm actually a new player and I'm struggling when using cursed objects. Every single time I use one (except the cards), the ghost starts hunting and I get INSTA MURDERED BY IT, specially using the circle. Last time I used the circle, I insta died when lighting the last candle (sticky didn't want to wait 60 seconds I guess). Am I using it wrong or I'm just very bad at this game?

The circle will instantly start a hunt At the circle if you don’t have enough sanity to light the last candle (it takes 16% per candle or 80% total)

A revs speed is based on knowing where you are. If the rev doesn’t know where you are it will go slow. If it knows where you are or sees you it will speed up

The moment it catches LOS, it rapidly explodes in speed, then carries the same speed until it goes to the last known location it had line of sight, then it’ll be sluggishly slow again. It is all dependent on LOS. If you’re referring to it speeding UP EVEN MORE, sure, it can’t

A deo will target you after you smudge and run away, yeah? Torn between a Mare and Deo. It slows way down when smudged, but then speeds up faster than normal. I don't think it slowed down when it got close to me

a Deo will always be aware of your positioning no matter what, and it completely slows down when it’s close to you. Any other ghost has a base speed of 1.7m/s, that’s not a speed ghost, will speed up if it has constant LOS of you

Deogen will be 3.0 m/s until close to you, then be a sluggish 0.4 m/s. I believe smudging it will make it return to 3.0 m/s if it's far enough away from you again?

I always have mine set to medium vs low mostly because if it spawns in the bathroom sometimes the stupid ghost won't even get to me in time to see what it is.
