Its very very frustrating at start, especially if you dont know alot, or even anything about special ability's, but its a learning curve and it gets fairly easy after a while man 🙂

He was bragging about it, but unfortunately I didn't get the name of the menu, because he said that he had the capabilities to ban other players. I left that session as fast as he had joined after I heard that. I didn't want to stick around to find out if he was spitting bs or not. I just wanted to be safe. I do want to ask though, is it possible for someone with a menu to ban another player? I just want to know so I can be sure I can go into public lobbies without having to worry about getting a random ban from some guy with a menu.

Coming from a recent Nightmare player, I was at first scared because I couldn't check sanity or activity, and was worried that the ghosts would be more aggressive and difficult, but it's honestly a breeze when you think strategically and know how the ghost's ability/behavior to guess the right one.

Any ghost outside a Yurei can't fully close doors when they are wide open. If a ghost fully closes a wide open door without any problem or pauses, it's a Yurei. It don't need to only interact the front door in order for the player to confirm.

The Yurei ability is a sanity drain, the closing of a door is just a secondary effect of that ability.
The door closing from a Yurei ability is often accompanied by the sound of a door being touched twice on top of eachother, and the door will close fairly quickly in one fast motion.
While any ghost can close a door fully, the Yurei ability is more distinct.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone test for Yurei in that way, as it is a very unreliable test at best. Even with high roaming settings, the ghost might not leave it's room much at all sometimes.

Closets and lockers are made so you can hold the shut without the ghost noticing, thus keeping you safe from the ghost opening them while walking past. If you try this on a regular door, the ghosts are made to actually check behind the doors, thus you are sealing your own fate.

Ghosts tend to spend most of their time in the ghost rooms, so that is a common starting point for a hunt.

A hunt has something called a grace period. A few seconds after a hunt begins and the door locks, the ghost begins to make noise, but is still invisible and standing still and can't hurt you. How long the grace period is depends on difficulty, or if you used a cursed posession.
