Use that time to find the ghost's favorite room, set up equipment to gather evidence

Ghost room is usually the coldest room in the house, plus where the ghost is throwing things. You'll get EMF readings in the room if it starts interacting with items/doors. You can also use the thermometer to try and find the coldest room. It takes a little time for the temps to drop though

If you have the video camera, you can use the video camera with the night vision turned on to see if there are ghost orbs in the room.

Any ghost can flick the light switch on/off but the mares is specifically off. Sometimes other ghosts can flick it off if you get unlucky.

Yes, any ghost can turn off a switch coincidentally after you turned it on. It's what we call being "Mare baited" and why Mares suck

I'd say most of the time the Mare ability is pretty reliable, but I have had multiple times where I got baited too. So just try to get the ability twice if possible.

Orbs look the same regardless of if they're a mimic or another orbs ghost, so no. You'd need the other pieces of evidence to find or rule out mimic
