When a crucifix burns or a hunt ends, the ghost always goes straight back to the ghost room, so, when one of those happens, see if motion sensors are going off. do this for several hunts. it's not concrete, i've had yokais refuse to change rooms, but when you've ruled out most of the other ghosts it makes it pretty clear if the motion sensors are still going off
