• Since I was outside I have to assume it wasn't a door-closing ghost event

On Nightmare ghosts can only hide 1 evidence. So if you rule out multiple evidences, you can cross off the ghosts that have both of them.

The cheat sheet pinned in #fan-creations has a nice feature that allows you to set your difficulty to Nightmare and just cross off evidences as you rule them out, and it does the logic for you to remove ghosts.

It means that ghost will never give you writing that game, but you can't just cross it off in the journal b/c it could be hidden.

i.e. you're never gonna have a ghost that throws the book and then writes in it later

It does a cruci check at where it is, then determines either fast or slow twin. If fast, it chooses a place in its extended range. It will then hunt from its chosen spot, ignoring crucis after choosing fast twin

If it chooses fast twin then it can teleport to a location in its extended interaction range. Since it already did the cruci check, it can bypass the cruci in this manner.

I see games like skyrim and minecraft live far far past the point they otherwise would and its because modding is super active.
I get it when it's no clip or something game breaking like an aimbot would be in a shooter but I don't understand why retextures / custom maps and stuff would be treated the same?

There is a 25 second cooldown minimum between hunts (20s for Demon)

Okay so once you're in hunting range, there is a set amount of time a hunt will last. After which, there will be a cool down. Atleast 25 seconds usually, 20 if demon, in which the ghost cannot hunt again. Use that time to get out. To test if it's ended, if listen, or if you're near a lightswitch, flick it. You can't flick lightswitches during a hunt so it's a nice check.

they have the standard los mechanic every ghost has, but when it sees you while power is on, it's not using standard los mechanic, it's using the jinn dash mechanic. even if it's using jinn dash, if it can see you, the normal los mechanic is still working in the background, so when the jinn does eventually slow back down, it won't necessarily be back to normal 1.7 speed, it may be faster because of the standard LOS mechanic

Tent doors are harder to tell, jt can sound like a loud velcro strap opening, but it can also sound like the regular yurei ability

same for any difficulty

it will also speed up over time if you let it see you, up to a 65% boost

just like all the normal speed ghosts and twins

depending on what your sanity is, moroi's speed will vary, which also makes the LOS speed up vary, so it can be confusing

if you don't let it see you, moroi will be faster than a fast twin
