I kinda want to learn for the weekly challenge but I'm worried that the process of: find ghost room -> place test equipment -> get response -> take photos won't be fun anymore if I can just walk in and go "Oh yeah it's a X, lets just get photos and leave"
What are we supposed to do if figuring out the ghost type is no longer the point of the game

I'd argue it does the opposite. Because you will need to change your gameplay routine, which can spice up your Phasmophobia experience by a bit. And the constant thinking about you possibly messing up could be fun (because it's quite challenging), but it might not be for everyone. But still, 0 evidence can still get boring, similar to regular gameplay (especially if you play too much).

No, for detection it's within 7.5metres electronics (9m voices) ALWAYS, for disturbance, flickering of flashlight, camera glitching etc it's 10m for all ghosts, for raiju it's 15m, yokai detection is 2.5m for both)
disturbance does NOT equal detection.

your best shot is putting it in the ghost room since the ghost is mainly gonna be there but that might be ineffective against ghosts like wraith phantom and banshee, or generally ghosts that roam a lot

uh kinda complicated. pretty much an object that spawns on all normal difficulties minus insanity. its 1 between 7 items and they spawn in set locations. they all do different things so its hard to sum them all up but id have a read through the cursed objects page in the wiki or cheat sheet

10.62x is pretty nice, take the 12.97 everyone uses, add sprinting, turn power on by default. Make any other adjustments you want like hiding spots/activity/event frequency. I recommend keeping event frequency to low because having the ghost teleporting to you constantly makes it hard to find/track the ghost room and the ghost's natural wandering patterns. (you can't tell if it's a stalker because the ghost is already always on top of you from ghost events)

Perhaps, but I tend to play phasmo with the general approach that a hunt means you've failed in some way. Or it's a demon. Way I tend to go is I got 100% sanity to find out what the ghost is, no ability to regain any sanity. Is a fun enough playstyle for me. And 5.72x money modifier! But, I tend to do 3 evidence because so many ghosts are only distinguishable in hunts.
