Shade cannot hunt if you are in the same room, but if you are scared of it spawning near you, you can hide in a closet far away from the ghost room. Just turn off the room's light* and open the journal to see when it's done.

If you read carefully, then it is written about some ghosts what evidence they always have. As far as I know, ghosts that do not fit into the difficulty level are also removed. (2 or less evidence)

i'd say hantu is the best you can get, when it starts hunt, listen on paramic, its super fast, it leaves the room and gets much slower, since its slower too you cant have much trouble getting a photo of it

Tried using the monkey paw for the first time last night. Was on 13 willow street, ghost room was left storage room. All we needed was a ghost photo and to smudge while it's chasing so I thought "hey a monkey paw, this'll be perfect" and wished to trap the ghost while in the kitchen.
I spent the minute I was locked moving my cursor from the door to the wall and back waiting for the lock symbol to go away so I could open the door, wait for a picture, smudge, and run into the hiding spot in the master bedroom.
While I was going wall->door->wall->door waiting for it to unlock the ghost walked straight through the door without opening it and killed me. It never unlocked and lights stayed on

What'd I do wrong?

Stick an unburnt Crucifix in the middle of the circle. It either stops or at least delays the hunt & the Crucifix is burnt immediately & used up

you can distinguish a shade with summoning circle, it has a small chance of appearing as a shadowy figure than a visible figure. the only bug you can get with the summoning circle is if the ghost is in it's dots state (meaning it has dots as possible evidence) and it just appears invisible during the circle

Wraiths teleport and ignore doors, but any ghost can also do so on like Sunny with internal locked doors. They can walk through those too as a failsafe

Nah Phantoms, Banshees and Wraiths can really be rough with bad rng doing their teleports cause graces are only 5 seconds from the hunt starting to them spawning in

Best you can do is smudge

The louder the ghost is during those 5 seconds, the closer you are to where it spawns

Oh like I said Ghosts can all go through locked doors as a failsafe except the front door. This includes large maps like Sunny locking the inside doors in the halls

Wraiths just go through normal doors that aren't locked

RIP, I would never stand by the basement door ever if the ghost was there, the sound system can be messed up on the stairs and the ghost can come outta nowhere, if you wanna get mid-hunt photos, do it across a table whilst looping

I've had my fair share of bugs. Tons of runs will have a bug here and there. We got hunted by a mare while we were all in the van talking, then it despawned in 3 seconds

Yeah loop supremacy. It's the best skill to use for tons of pics, objectives, identifying, etc

C1: Tanglewood/Camp looping at like 12x money or smth for quick money and xp

C2: All Nightmare settings but only 1, or sometimes 0 evidence if I'm in the mood. I personally like Nightmare but not 2 evidence

C3: rng. Just random dice runs
