Hiding spots blocks does not matter as long as you communicate at the start what hiding spots are open and not. Literally might change rooms once every 10 or so games

just accomodate whatever your groups specific issue is, make it a bit harder but keep it easy in the ways you want e.g. more sanity drain so more hunts but keep your hiding spots high so you can practice surviving more etc.

mines done that before, i toggled between voice chat options and pressed apply between them and it fixed it most of the time. if that doesn’t work try restarting the game completely.

Familiarize yourself with hiding spots using the great Unofficial Phasmophobia Cheat Sheet - Map Explorer
Take a flashlight, salt, incense, and lighter
Go directly to the Ouija board which is in the laundry
Ask it where the ghost is right now, most likely that'll be the ghost room - check the room name with the abovesaid Map Explorer
Set the salt about there (watch out you'll be at low sanity due to the ouija)
Hide and wait for the hunt with torchlight on the ground near you and smudge in hand

While hidden, when you hear the steps of the ghost hunting, measure the BPM e.g. with a BPM app by tapping at the speed of the ghost steps

Revenant is 70 BPM when it's not seeing you
Twins are 100 or 130
Moroi at 0 sanity, and Hantu with breaker off and no evidence, are both at around 160, so i do a 2nd hunt, unhidden, where I try to look at the ghost and see if the ghost has freezing breath (hantu) and if it speeds up with LOS (Moroi)
Raiju has a normal 115 bpm with the torchlight off, but goes to 175 with torchlight on, which you can trigger while you're hidden with the torch on the ground near you
The Thaye speedruns at 190 or so, super fast
And then there's the Deogen that starts very fast but then gets near you, and you start hearing slow steps... SMUUUUDGE and runnn
I would lie if I said that I can get the Myling by the muffled sounds, I don't lol

If the ghost moves at the usual ~115 bpm and you want to try getting more options, do a second hunt where you will watch the ghost move; Phantom blinks less visible, and Oni blinks more visible than the rest, but it's a bit hard to notice.

I have a ventus 3060, my previous gtx was a 1050ti with 32gb of ram. The game runs good until DOTS are put down and my fps goes down like crazy. Myling questions; I know the quieter footsteps part, but does it need to be on the same floor as you to test that distance? What if I can hear it upstairs? Also, does it flicker the NV goggles at the same distance as a flashlight? Does it actually “talk” more on the Paramic?
