the reason why reports like this tend to be met with skepticism is because its usually user error. phasmo might be buggy but its generally not so buggy that the custom settings just straight up don't work. maybe in your case it was actually just a really insanely rare bug, but that hasn't been documented previously at all. its nothing personal and no one thinks you're stupid, it's just that it would be insanely rare to have a bug like that. You're still welcome to make a report in #bug-reports with any evidence you have, of course

The ghost will only come to you if it has line of sight or it's a Deo. Otherwise it is just roaming until it does see you. Using the tarot cards from a hiding spot will not make the ghost go to the hiding spot automatically.

also don’t watch too many youtubers! they like to provoke hunts for hunt tells, which is a good strat for them, but not necessarily for you! Play your sanity, gather your evidence and get out. Learn how the ghost reacts to you and how it interacts with the environment, then go onto more advanced strategies!

so basically, you normally have 3 evidence to determine the ghost type. However, in harder difficulties, there will only be 1/2 evidences shown by the ghost. So Mare for example is Spirit Box, Ghost Orbs, and Writing - if im playing 1 evidence it may only shown Spirit Box, and the other two will be "hidden".
some ghosts have FORCED evidence, which essentially means that on 1/2 evidence settings - certain evidencess MUST be shown. so say hantu for example which is Ultraviolet, Ghost Orbs and Freezing - in 1 evidence its forced to have freezing, so if the evidence you get is Ultraviolet then you can cross it out
