You dont have to choose the room. The gjost has a favorite room (which most ghosts can change on higher difficulty) and that just means the ghost is rather active in and around the room

All events will close doors in the room and give emf 4, not just the mist event. Sometimes the ghost starts an event right next to you, so it stops almost as soon as it started which will look like doors closing and emf 4 with nothing else .

In custom difficulties you can set the ghost to “friendly” basically means it will never hunt, even with cursed objects. But you won’t get money or xp from it

Also shade won’t hunt you if you’re in the same room, does that count?

the issue with t1 isn't inaccuracy, it's how it refuses to show subzero temps unless you're within subzero temps. getting a reading of 0º is extremely difficult.

yes, however t2 and t3 will show temps faster on a cycle and you can tend to detect subzero temps faster, t1 is great for finding the ghost room. terrible for waiting for freezing

toss it in the center of the ghost room and come back every few minutes to check the temps

the last bar you count will be counted as a 1, but then theres nothing between that and 0.
