It could be that you had two sets of DOTs active and it started its DOTs interaction in the other DOTs. This is a known issue. If we want a DOTs photo we usually disable one of the DOTs because with both active the photo tends to just not work at all.
If you only had one set of DOTs active and this happened, then perhaps there is a bug on Tanglewood, and it may be worth reporting

You CAN just turn friendly off and limit yourself to the mirror with all the other settings the same, should legit only affect wether you can get hunted or not

these really fast investigations are also helped by the room being either the foyer or one of the first few rooms on the left

My ‘method’ (for tanglewood) I guess, is grab T3 Dots, T2 temps and T3 camera on a tripod, grab igniter and T2 Headgear too, zoom inside the house, drop the camera to grab the mirror, use the mirror to find the room, set up dots, drop camera and drop temps

Then I grab ghost book, Spirit box, EMF, set those up in the room

Then I’ll grab Salt, UV and a fire light and set those up, and hopefully the evidence comes quick

Since for me its friendly ghost, I don’t bother gathering media or beating the objectives, naturally

I use the firelight to get fairly often EMF readings since a blown firelight is EMF2 it can appear as EMF5, the rest of the evidence comes naturally as it normally would

Oh I forgot, my fingerprint chance is 100 so if it does salt and it’s a UV ghost, footprints are guaranteed

A mannequin. The ghost can interact with it to help indicate the ghost room or roaming area. If it was in the basement and now in the kitchen, that tells us that the ghost is in the basement or roamed to the basement. If it is interacted, they have a chance to teleport (most of the times to the player or in the room the player(s) is in) but cannot teleport if a player(s) is looking at it directly.

I play Phasmo with my friend almost every day. He only plays on VR. This probably happens every 1 in 10 times we load in. So far it hasn’t been game breaking - almost always he’s clipped into the map, where he can walk into the van once the van opens, but once he was trapped beneath the van. We had to guess a random ghost and leave.
