I think if the item is partially obstructed, it may not count. Had an instance where the ghost writing book is clipped slightly into the floor and i got a 0 star photo. Had to pick up the book and place it again before i got a 3 star one. Since yours is a bone, you can't just pick up and place it, which is unfortunate.
