you can add map marker by interacting with the map but often time this sometimes means zooming in and out and taking attention away from "the game window". I would like to propose making a hotkey, like how ingame screenshot can be hotkey, to create a mapmarker on character position. maybe option to have pop up for edit or not

You can right click on the spot on the ground and add a map mark that way if adding it via the map window is an issue.
