Recovery is also something you gotta practice, specifically on this character.

Recovery, just practice angling up b diagonal and up, or diagonal and diagonal
And offense, use neutral b for zoning, and aerials for attacking

Apparently there is a difference, but it's so small, you'd need buffs and items to prove it
I.e spirits, bunny hood, etc.
Also, samus has a better jump considering the smaller second jump hitbox that damus lacks
And damus has a better roll by a few frames
