Are you a verified coach now?
No 😔 Jellyfish said I couldn't be
Oh , my b
Did he say why?
Also @hard warren you’re like the goat beginner coach
I mean you guys can handle this but I would check with a head coach first
Idk if they want non verified people coaching
I've done a few coaching sessions with people
They turned out well
And I'm not banned yet! :D
hii
wsg!

🍉

So you like kirby?
thats wild
So like fox has 0 end lag from the time you parry
Vs dk smash attack or something
that's a lot of frames to react lol
yeah
i need help on grabbing at the perfect time
every time i usually try to grab i miss it
well not every time
but im really bad at it
They don’t actually care fr
Grab breaks through shield
Sick
For grab, just make sure you're in front of them, and press l or r
+5 actually
yeees???
Thank you for the shoutout.
I'm happy to let you give it a shot.
If you have any issues let me know.
When dealing with beginners, be sure to check for the absolute basics, including, but not limited to:
- Use of the shield button
- Roll dodging
- Spot dodging
- Air dodging (pay attention to ensure neutral air dodge is being used!)
- Shield shuffling (both single and double shield shuffling)
- Grabs (and pummels when grabbing)
- Shorthops (manual shorthops [flick jump], auto-shorthops [both jump buttons], and auto-shorthop aerials [jump button+attack])
- Understanding of difference between shorthop and fullhop (visual demo is appropriate)
- Full use of all A moves (light jab, gentleman jab, rapid jabs, dash attacks, tilts [f,d,u], aerials [f,b,u,d], charged and uncharged smash attacks)
- Full use of all B moves [u,d,s], including maximum optimisation (for example, some up-Bs can be exited into an attack or air dodge)
- Walks, including micro-walk (only if tilt jump is disabled, note)
- Initial dash (lead into foxtrotting; dash shielding)
- Run frames and why run animation is different from initial dash/walks (E.G. running is slower for Ganon than initial dash, but for some running is faster than initial dash E.G. Duck Hunt)
- Appropriate basic counterplay E.G. grabs to counter shields; shields to counter attacks; spot dodges to counter grab; attacks to counter grabs)
- Dynamic use of ledge recovery (do they use all possible options? Neutral/Attack/Jump/Roll-on/Drift back/Drop down)
- Regrab limits on ledge (maximum of 5 regrabs or 6 grabs total; resets if you touch stage)
- Wall jumps (if applicable to character)
- Appropriate recovery technique (do they only use up-B, or do they use jump, air dodge, up-B in variations?)
- Appropriate edge guarding (do they stay on stage, or go out and threaten with edge guarding?)
Praise good techniques as appropriate and constructively critique bad techniques by offering alternatives.
Will do. Unfortunately, I talked with them in DMs and they don't have switch online atm. They should be getting it later today.
The beginners guide doc asks that as one of the key questions. Here's a copy if you don't have one.
I would be way more proactive right now but a lot of stuff is being thrown my way.
Yes I’m here
Sorry
I’m currently at school right now 😭
Lol it's alright
