how long has the server been running for?

It's been running for around 2 weeks but we're doing a restart to counter some issues I didn't account for the first time around! We have a decently sized community (116 People with this server's role in my discord)

what issues were you having?

Well, the server has limited lives, but most players found that you could exploit a bug in the revival mod we use to pretty much have as many lives as you want, which means they were able to progress pretty much up to the early Industrial age with no losses

#

Additionally, a lot of players found that the server just wasn't as hard as I had originally imagined it would be, so I've made some changes (and a custom mod) to increase difficulty

In the discord server linked, I do provide a curseforge instance for people to install. Essentially it's:

And it's been packed full of optimization mods to run as well as possible given the modlist. The full version of the pack has 114 mods, and the Lite version (as many non-essential clientside mods as possible removed, plus removing anything not technically necessary to join the server) has 100. I've gotten the full version to run at a max of 600fps on my laptop

such an idea is interesting in a short game, but not for Tfc. For the most part, in the TFC, death accompanies players every step of the way.

That's the idea, I'm being lenient by giving people 3 lives, but the intent is that one character won't be able to progress throughout the entire game

also if you are afraid of people rushing through progression quickly you can disable anvil recipes and unlock them when a certain amount of time has passed

I might join this, I do like to roleplay occasionally but Minecraft just isn't my type of game without a lot of complexity via automation, so I may have a hard time pulling through ages before industrial willingly

yeah it's fine, a few issues arised in the first test of the server and by the time they wanted to start it again they felt like it wasn't what they wanted to do

(I'm tired of being one of the only 3 women on the server 🙏 )

I'm going for this too, it will basically be 18+ and also RP via MCA Reborn (you can make multiple character profiles with any name you want)... ill make a new post about it soon for all those interested 🙂 its gonna be a slow burn, starting small just so I can focus on finishing some original mods to go into the pack (SMP/PvE related things)

I mean I kinda was once but we parted ways due to creative differences.... Basically my pack/server will be minimal but I will have tools and guides to assist/encourage others to make their own servers and packs based on it 😁
