#Italian Christmas

Great edit, love your speed ramps. And I never noticed that there is actually something written on the christmas socks...
Excellent! This is the kind of editing we need to better showcase the community! I imagine you used the same software that's used for championship broadcasts, right? Is there a known way to use it?
It’s our initials😊
@waxen fox did me a huge favor and captured the video in a viewer tool. I’ve never used it but I think it’s something exclusive to PCVR
That's great! @waxen fox Can you tell us more about it?
Its amazing how steady the shots are. Like shots taken with a gimbal in real reality. My walking is always much more unsteady...
Today I played this map on the playlist, and the feedback I can share is:
It uses a lot of detail and takes a long time to load for most players. Some reported a constant black screen and had to quit, even after the match had already started.
In the match, we started 4 vs 5, but the other team completely left before the match ended, reporting that there were too many points and too much match time.
The budget is 88.1%
I played it twice on the playlist in two different lobbies and didn’t have those issues. It does take longer than normal to load but it loads and plays well with no lag
It’s a small map 50 is a reasonable amount of points for a 5-8 minute round depending on # of players and skill
I guess I can delete 4 Christmas wreaths and that will eliminate 350 pieces off the map
I recommend trying to keep it below 80%. Regarding the time, maybe 10 minutes maximum? If I'm not mistaken, I saw 15 minutes.
Maps can run perfectly fine even at 100%. What the current system doesn’t handle well is a lot shapes within close proximity to each other. Too many items with the same general geo location causes the game to take longer to load.
The game will never take 15min to play unless it’s a 1v1
I played that map as 2v2 once and it was about a 10 minute game
Don't underestimate the kids haha Just sharing my first experience with random players: a whole team of 5 people left the match between points 30 and 40 because they found everything "too slow". But I believe they weren't very keen. Anyway, I think the map is amazing!
80% is relative total asset count it was makes the long loss time.
Thank you! I’ll trim some wreaths literally 🤣🥲and hopefully that can help speed up load in time a little bit
I just deleted 895 various shapes. The budget went from 88.1% to 85.2%
Load in time has been improved
Get an espresso in the bookstore for 150 movement speed
Grazie @misty coral molto authentico
My suggestion is always: Set the points high and the timer low. Then large lobbies won't have a 2 min game, while small lobbies dont play for an hour to reach 50 points or what ever it is.
I’m about to delete this post because all this feedback is removing all joy I had around this project I poured over 60 hours into
Eh why? Your map is one of the most beautiful maps in the whole game.
It totally deserves show casing...
And I am sure noone - definetly not me and I am pretty sure same for Euduardu - wants to critize or bad mouth your incredible work
Last night some friends basically told me that it’s not a good map
My experience as builder = 90% of critics about maps actually means: "I lost in the map because I dont understand how to win on it..."
Right but like this post is causing me to lose joy in a project that I was really excited about
And the 10% of valid critizism comes almost uniquely from other builders...
People are too dumb to read one sentence of rules, then dont know what to do, lose and say "this map sucks"
Thats just how it is...
No these friends were all builders last night who in game told me that it’s not a good map in so many words. It didn’t happen on this post. But they are two in the same because I was trying to “show it off”
Hm... I wasnt there... But maybe they just wanted to help...? I mean its true that you pushed this map to the limits. And loading time is a bit longer than normal...
Have you loaded it up recently?
I was 4 days travelling... Didnt really play since i am back but I saw how many likes your map got...
Hope you enjoyed your travels!
Euduardo’s initial feedback was helpful because being on a playlist did cause loading issues I didn’t experience during custom room testing. Since removing 900 various shapes the load time has been significantly improved and few players report load issues like excessive wait time, texture loading issues, and kicking. This was very helpful feedback and was needed.
I’m just now weary after last night of personally showing off a project I’m so happy about.
I have 30 maps, obviously that’s countless hours of building…
I consider this Italian map to be the best map I’ve ever made so receiving criticism is kind of more personal than it normally would be.
Yeah, I understand that... Being creative and put out something to the public always makes us somehow vulnerable. I dont know what to say... Just dont take it too personal...
