The 1% basically anyone on here or that is decently good at the game yes. For everyone else that is not that good, solo is not engaging for them and probably a turn off to not come back with the skill gap.

Solos with 3 life respawns until the final few zones where respawns become disabled. I'd really enjoy that! I think I'd play that way more than trying to solo in squads.
