Since the newest update the game only starts in SteamVR mode. The button that used to open the menu ingame is the same to open the SteamVR settings. No other button brings it up. So I cant access any settings, leave the game or most importantly, check my ping anymore.

Could you get me a log file?
Part 1 (Setup):
In Steam, right click on Population: One, and select "Properties..."
Navigate to the Launch Options (see attached image) and enter this:
-loglevel debug -unityloglevel log
Press OK, then start Population: One like normal
Reproduce the issue, then retrieve the log file with the steps below
Part 2 (Getting the Log):
Right click Population: One, and select "Properties..."
Click the Local Files tab, then click "Browse Local Files" and a File Explorer window will open
Then, find a file named "population_one_client.log", send that to us

hitting the "x" button (bottom button left controller) should bring up the battle menu for VD

This has something to do with the inability to double tap the same button to toggle in and out of fully immersed mode in virtual desktop. Troubleshooting this issue will probably resolve this one as well. Seems intertwined.

VD is not supported so the doubletap feature we can not guarentee will work
there is still the ability to get to the battle menu in-game

Issue resolved in my case... My X button is just broken. I was just an Idiot.
