#No fling on virtual desktop

Is the game starting with steamVR ? How do you open the game? Over steam or in the games tab in VD?
I get the same issue everytime I try to run the game via steamVR. Its been like this for atleast a year for me.
Opening the game in the games tab in VD opens it without steamVR. So it works just fine for me, except the horrible lag that BB refuses to fix ofcourse.
I've tried both, doesn't seem to make any difference for me. have you tried air link? do you not experience the different fling?
I've got it on steam and oculus
have tried them all, all different ways
I have tried every method, VD, airlink, link with cable. SteamVR is always the cause for that. If the game runs with it, so you can open the steamVR menu ingame and see overlays and all that stuff. The fling is almost non existent.
I remember it being fixed for a short time maybe a month ago. I think they updated their OpenXR version or something like that. Broke VD tho so it got rolled back.
I've tried both, seems to make no difference to me what version I run unfortunately
would be ncie for it to work, it looks great
Do you get no fling at all? When i get the issue there is still fling, its just very weak und unreliable
yeah very weak, like imagine I'm throwing a ball at the floor full pelt to get full fling. where same thing is a flick of the wrist on air link
just can't play competitive when it's like that
Well only fix for me was not running steamVR. Cant really help if its happening all the time
strange one
so yours is working the same as air link?
so you can flick your wrist and get full fling?
this isnt a VD issue. Welcome to pop pc. where the fling training wheels that quest has dont extist. i have both. quest stand alone feels like it helps you fling. on pc it fells heavier.
It absolutely is a VD thing. It also has nothing to do with steam.VD has high tracking latency. You notice it in any game that requires fast hand movements.Try something like beat saber on vd and then on airlink. Airlink is much better when it comes to tracking latency, Link cable is better airlink, and a true displayport headset like valve index is even better than that.
yeah air link is fine
Well, I don't experience that. Fling is same on airlink, vd and even standalone. Except if I run it via steamVR
I noticed no difference in fling between standalone and Stream with VD but you absolutely have to launch it through the Virtual Desktop Games Menu. Launching the game any other way (using the steam runtime) exposes massive incompatibilities.
Pcvr has never had fling the same as standalone, hubby who only plays standalone cannot play pcvr at all due to this . I haven’t ever played standalone so I suppose don’t miss what I’ve never had I’m just turtle climb and changed my playstyle to fit this
this isn't true. air link is great, full fling with a flick of the wrist.
Well I’m talking pcvr meaning steam version , not the oculus version
yeah I use steam on air link
The oculus version and steam version are different but always have been , you can do some advanced ovr settings to help with playspace mover but it is not the same fling as standalone players have
air link on steam or oculus version both have amazing fling
it's just VD that's broken
what do you use to play?
Ahh I have to play steam /virtual desktop as play on cloud computer so cannot do airlink
seems like its different for everyone, just as I said fine for me on VD if launched through games tab
glad it's working for some but seems you're in the minority based on people on Facebook
Idk if it makes a difference, but I always play on 120hz. But depending on hardware not everyone can do it
Also router is directly wired to pc to minimize latency
mines the same for both
@wispy briar Dude if you're playing on a cloud computer you don't get to complain about anything not working correctly. You may as well be trying to game on a raspberry pi.
Rude , but hey , whatever.I don’t think the specs are too shabby for my raspberry pi

i know for a fact theres a difference in fling between shitty quest and index via steam. if you dont have an index then you really have no idea.
and climbing/fling seems better on 90hz. i think sumatchi said something of the sort but dont quote me
My quest has been collecting dust for a year but only ever had issues with fling when launching the game incorrectly with VD. No issues on Pico 4 either. I do run 90hz so maybe that's something.
