#RPG still crashing entire lobby when fired in certain sandbox maps.

The last time I had this happen someone else picked up an RPG so I started recording. They fired and as expected the game crashed. The last frame was of the rocket coming out of the RPG but no smoke yet. So maybe that's a clue..
Smoke asset not being loaded/cached but trying to render?

I made all the rockets in Doom95 Gold, I’ve seen it linked more to Red rockets.

Yeah I'm not sure why it happens on some maps but not others. Crash [and Burn] will always crash ironically. Fireball (one of yours?) always crashes (Blue RPG). Racoon PD always. 2056..? That newish Quake map which I love, will sadly crash if you know where to find the (Red) RPG.

Us builders have a theory that maps with a high number of assets dont jive with the red rockets. Almost like a threshold. I made a away to capture a log file and count the number of assets in a map. Not automated but it can be done. The maps you mention, Crash and Burn has a ton of assets over 10k. Fireball I don’t know what it has but I can test it this weekend. 2075 has a a good amount same with Racoon. Next time you’re in TDM see if you have any crashes with rockets on levels that don’t look like they have a high budget?

Hidden ducks, rats (the chef/kitchen map), diagon alley, supper hot, the hot air balloon map all consistently crash

@round glade That's a pretty solid theory. Although Skid Mark is at 100% and doesn't crash. I'm not sure what the object count is though. It's got a lot of trees (performance hit) so it's probably not near an object count limit.
@jaunty zinc Does Diagon Alley have RPG's normally? I've never crashed on that one or Balloons yet play them regularly. Are you on Quest or PC?

Yeah and trees are super expensive. That's why I think despite being at 100% it's probably not that high by quantity.

I echo what @round glade said above - tied to red rockets (not gold, etc.) and most likely to occur in maps with a ton of shapes to load. Probably won't crash if you are at 100% using mainly prefab assets.

It happens to me on gold still. I’ll pick up and shoot a gold rocket in rats and will crash me every time. I’ve noticed that the higher amount of shapes vs prefabs regardless of budget is what is more likely to crash me.

This is another reason that it would be nice if the budget of the map was displayed. That information could be very useful, for Builders especially, but in this case as well.

Crashed four times last night. Considering I only tolerated playing for an hour that's pretty damn bad.
I uninstalled/reinstalled and will see how it goes tonight. If it's still crashing I'm done with this game until this is confirmed fixed.

All rockets. It is still crashing for other reasons as well but pretty much all the time a rocket launcher will crash the room. We don't use them anymore in the rooms we run.

Two observations that may be inaccurate. 1) I think maybe the maps that crash only have one RPG in the map. 2) At least one person in the lobby has to be on PC. Just theories, maybe others can chime in.

@round glade I can add a load of red rockets to my prefab only map to try (99.9% of budget used in that one) good way of testing the prefab vs asset count

I wonder if there’s a conflicting shape asset that’s causing it, 🤷‍♂️. One thing I have noticed in the past, is that when a spawn point is next to a “very thin” wall, the player spawns on top of it, almost like there is a conflict with the collision, I just wonder whether the affected maps have a thinned out cube that could be conflicting? (Clutching at straws)

Does the crashing only occur when there’s more than 1 person in the room, or does it crash if you are loading on solo? Could the conflict be with a particular “character skin” ? (Did it start crashing after the release of a new skin?)

No crashes last night in customs and we tried a bunch of rooms that used to insta crash with rocket use. Yeah!
