[SGC] Mini Golf

So I originally wanted to remake a Walkabout Mini Golf Course. But realized it would be pretty hard. (Babylon Gardens would've been the course, for those that play). I just didn't think the budget would allow me to do it justice.

So I made my own course 😀. And then went all out with Go-Karts and Bumper Boats too. A real family fun center.
If you get a chance to walk the course, would love to hear feedback, positive or negative.

Seeing the screenshots of this map is the first time I've thought "having drivable vehicles would work" looks incredible. Can't wait to try it out

Just having moving parts in general would be so awesome 😃. Many people have talked about how if the main Pop1 map had a train circling the through the map. Kinda like a toy train going around a Xmas tree. Would be pretty wild!!

Yeah it definitely would make the game more enjoyable and add life to the main game but imagine having maps like yours even in the hangout mode would add a different dimension.

I play Walkabout a lot and those courses are really difficult to build. I’ve wanted to make Quixote Valley but I doubt I could do it justice.

I know right. In my mind I thought, they use basic shapes....we have basic shapes. But then you go in there, and realize how much they actually have going on.

I've watched their process for making courses and it's pretty detailed and usually takes 6 months per course.

Yeah, those videos are sweet. I listened to one where they told the story of how they became Mighty Coconut and created Walkabout. If you haven't heard that, highly recommend.

We gotta play sometime. The RAD guys used to get together every week for it. I'm sure we could rangle a couple together

Morecow, you and armsreach are the best builders in this beta by far. Congrats on another amazing build! About the moving aspect, if they have us the Santa that Flys over the map I'd put a team and enemy spawn point on it 🙂

Oh wow, thanks man.
I totally forgot about the Santa or drop ship moving on the map. So obviously they can make moving parts. Just haven't chosen to go further with it

Anybody have any comments on Mini Golf from the playtest? I wasn't there 😔. Wondering if anybody had any issues while olaying or suggestions to improve it.

Yeah, Weller was an ass. He kept attacking me when I was low on health. But other than that.... great map. I wasn't sure if there was enough cover but it was really well balanced for how flat the map is. 👍

Yeah, I was wondering how the cover was. Might add a couple small hills or decorations on the track to provide more cover. Weller said it was hard getting outta there

It played a little bit like trench warfare without the trenches. You were always taking fire from a distance but you had cover so it was ok. But advancing took some trial and error to learn the map. I actually enjoyed the challenge of it.

This map is really fun and creative. Can you lower the score to 30 instead of 50?

It's really fun, but takes a bit long to play to 50.

I think I actually have to do the same for Lily Pad.

I always defaulted to the 50 because that's the way it was in the OG days (with 24 player lobbies) But yes, 30 on the way.

I love how you just casually mention 24 person lobbies. We need those back, especially since Legions has it.

Since we are focusing on having playlists for now, it makes it easier to have the same lobby sizes.

Would be fun to have playlists with different sizes or game modes in the future, that's definitely something we want if Sandbox is popular enough!

Obviously, players can continue Hosting Custom Rooms with up to 24 players as they want
