it depends on the character you are playing, but for most characters you just slide your finger from the down key to the up key (or reverse) while running, so >>v^v^v^ or >>^V^V^V. Theres other ways of doing the step but I find that way the easiest.
Springstepping (and stepping in general) is a way to move around faster on certain characters, basically you press ^v^v^v whille running which lets you jump up and down very quickly and move faster
side note the fact something like springstepping isn't even known by some of the newer community is wild, people would get cooked for not being able to step and now it isnt even though about 😔 #bringbackS2

There are more steps, like v step, hiponpo step, etc, but there arent much use for them anymore. At least since stepping isnt popular nowadays people dont get carpal tunnel from doing this anymore lol
