In the recent conference with the Elsword team, it was stated that there was no feasible solution to prevent hurting either new or old players if the ERP system were to be changed. The system is flawed because it gives players who were around longer to grind a gradual stat increasing system that eventually becomes very beneficial in the long term. This can cause new players to be in an unfair situation because they now have to catch up not only in raw gear, but also the ERP system that is essentially time-gated by stamina. It has come to a point that there are implied ERP expectations in each content. For example, a player would likely feel some concern entering Abyss raid if any party member were to be under 300 ERP.

Solution: Create designated milestones in the game that add experience points to the player. Each milestone is only available once per account.

These will be example milestones but I hope this brings understanding to the reader:

  1. Obtaining a full Secret Dungeon set -> rewarded experience points from whatever it takes to go from lv. 1 to lv. 20
disclaimer; this does not mean that the player is forced into lv. 20. They simply are just added the experience points that require someone starting completely fresh at 0% to become exactly to lv. 20. This allows those who grinded extra experience points to maintain their efforts as they are awarded milestone exp. Let’s say I decided to grind to lv. 5 first and then got a full SD set. Then, I’ll end up somewhere around lv. 21-24 (correct me if I’m wrong).

  2. Obtaining a Void Weapon and full Elrianode gear -> rewarded experience points to go from lv. 20 to lv. 50

  3. Obtain FoJ and Rigo armor -> from 50 to 100

  4. Complete all Master Road -> from 100 to 150

  5. Unlock story quests to Pruinaum Raid -> 150 to 200

and so on

If this idea were to be implemented, I wish for it to stop at lv. 250-300 since I believe that new players should still grind a bit for EXP at least. A good proportion of ERP has already been automatically rewarded to everyone to be functional in the content that they will be thrown into next instead of feeling punished that they suddenly have to grind another 100 levels to be able to play their next content right when they got their next best gear. Old players with higher ERP levels still benefit from this too since they will be automatically awarded the same amount of EXP as well. No one would complain.

ERP Improvements

  1. Combine max HP/MP into one stat
  2. Combine Damage to Boss Increase and Damage Received from Boss into one stat
  3. Allow a new stat that can take up to 50 points. I was thinking of 50 points for 5% Continuous Damage, but other possibilities exist such as Critical Damage, Defense Ignore, Atk Power %, Atk Power Lvl, etc.
I even had some funky ideas like cast speed increase or hitbox size increase, but idk how well those would do. In the end, I feel like Continuous Damage makes the most sense and be the least problematic.
  4. Reduce the requirement for 7% Adaptation from 100 points to 50 points. The progression of this stat is way too slow and yet becomes too demanding to have for endgame content. This ends up leaving players who have low or mid ERP levels with very dysfunctional ERP builds because they may end up forced to throw a massive proportion of the points they already barely have just to somehow squeeze through more challenging endgame content.
  5. Change the Polarize stat so that up to 100 points can be invested into it instead of 50. People are still struggling to even get close to the Polarize cap with optimal gear.

Idk, they are too much levels for basically no effort.

#

The game literally gift you these sets...

#

I'm ok about "ERP Improvements" (the last part).

pass on giving players more polarize to kill themselves with

#

like the player asking the erp importance question is saying.
newer players don't always understand the importance of erp
and giving it to them on a silver platter isn't going to help with that.

then there's the concern of what if uninformed players completely mess up their erp page(s).
erp reset coins are hard to come by and tbh the item mall shouldn't be the solution to that problem.

the problem is everyone needs it at some point so saying its bad because it will kill them is also bad

#

i say they just redo erp from the ground up with a different system with an actual cap

#

and more intresting stuff in general

#

too much checklist gameplay and not enough ooh shiny

why are you commenting on year old suggestions. Lots of suggested stuff are severely outdated due to QoL changes. the entire suggestion would need to be looked over again.
