In the recent conference with the Elsword team, it was stated that there was no feasible solution to prevent hurting either new or old players if the ERP system were to be changed. The system is flawed because it gives players who were around longer to grind a gradual stat increasing system that eventually becomes very beneficial in the long term. This can cause new players to be in an unfair situation because they now have to catch up not only in raw gear, but also the ERP system that is essentially time-gated by stamina. It has come to a point that there are implied ERP expectations in each content. For example, a player would likely feel some concern entering Abyss raid if any party member were to be under 300 ERP.
Solution: Create designated milestones in the game that add experience points to the player. Each milestone is only available once per account.
These will be example milestones but I hope this brings understanding to the reader:
-
Obtaining a full Secret Dungeon set -> rewarded experience points from whatever it takes to go from lv. 1 to lv. 20
disclaimer; this does not mean that the player is forced into lv. 20. They simply are just added the experience points that require someone starting completely fresh at 0% to become exactly to lv. 20. This allows those who grinded extra experience points to maintain their efforts as they are awarded milestone exp. Let’s say I decided to grind to lv. 5 first and then got a full SD set. Then, I’ll end up somewhere around lv. 21-24 (correct me if I’m wrong). -
Obtaining a Void Weapon and full Elrianode gear -> rewarded experience points to go from lv. 20 to lv. 50
-
Obtain FoJ and Rigo armor -> from 50 to 100
-
Complete all Master Road -> from 100 to 150
-
Unlock story quests to Pruinaum Raid -> 150 to 200
and so on
