and like u said, u use it for confirms, so ull do like fast fall ^Z into ZZZ or Z>skill or w/e, the problem is that the gap between the ^z animation and the grounded animation where ur just airborne can eat your inputs
falling ^Z is supposed to put you in a standing neutral state when you land, so if you press Z right before landing from ^Z, it should give you an immediate standing "Z" that cant be extended into a combo string or cancelled with a skill. Try this on any of the melee characters like elesis, raven, elboy etc, and you'll see what I'm talking ab out, the transition is butter smooth

the description is Display offset specifies the age of the tick to display. By displaying an older state instead of the latest one, games can mask adjustments if a state update is received from the server. The drawback is that the game will have some latency built-in, as it reacts to player inputs with some delay. Setting to zero will always display the latest game state.

elsword use raw p2p no nonsense, what happens on your screen = what happens to your character
it's not like other games where you will get rubber banded 5 seconds later into a combo, or the game will randomly speed up
the damage you see your character receive is the damage your character takes, the skills your character gets hit by on your screen are the skills you actually get hit by. All of this plays into having minimal input delay so that you can react immediately to what's on your screen, and it still works like this

it's a consistent 0.1s (100 ms) delay
almost exactly 8f in a game that runs at 80 FPS
our input response time in field/dungeon/pvp used to be identical to the response time in town/rest areas, to the point that you could actually use rest areas to practice some rudimentary mechanics like dash jump + direction swap timings or smth while you waited for your match
those are exactly the same. Town/Rest area response times are like 41 ms at LEAST-- they might even go a bit lower but not 100% sure on that atm. regardless tho, the difference is night and day, it's actually unreal

like say there is 150ms delay between me & opponent, i push a button at time t_0 and it does not update my screen until t_100, opponent's client gets notice of my input at t_150 and updates their screen with my character input immediately
then insted of my actions on their screen being 150ms out of sync from mine, it'd just look like 50 (though we both pay 100ms tax on reaction time)
like sure it's a constant value, but that just seems like compromise they made bc variable input delay would feel awful while constant would probably b like a goodenough solution especially if they are assuming the only ppl that matter r korean

Adding a 100 ms response would just make the game feel worse to anyone who has been playing long enough to remember what it actually felt like.

it's also about you responding to what's literally on your screen in order to avoid damage and catches. Elsword has always been that way. Your offense requires you to read into the future and predict where opponents are going to be if you want to catch them. Your defense requires you to react in real time to what's happening on your screen. You need to do both of these things simultaneously a lot of the time
if you can't then that's hwo you end up in situations where you have no real counterplay
