You can also randomly hit a delay button if you know how the character that's hitting them works. You could mess up their combo that way.

Eve in general doesn't convert going down, even if she does you just →→X and confirm with XX→X on the floor; but that's assuming there's enough space for you to launch in the first place.

If you can't launch because it might launch people into another platform or hit the ceiling, then your next bet is to push them to the very edge of a ledge, make core proc or XX→X to give you some time and then on the platform below you →→↑Z (wait until they get knocked) Z and quickly confirm with →→↑Z again. This one is a lot more difficult because you have to time and space everything.

The more simple approach is to just side switch and not knock them off of a platform to begin with

Nah this stuff is easy to keep track of unless your class can pull beads out of thin air like CC. Especially in 1v1. Knowing when someone is grazing you is also part of your skill at the game.

Also people being able to awaken whenever doesn't make it harder. What you keep track of is the amount of hits going out. The process doesn't really change.

Its a bit harder to track in 2v2 because someone can hit your teammate offscreen and you can't know.

I think the only thing u can still do with highspeed from release is turn around mid cast but its not even the same type of turn around that you could do before.

The old one off videos made it look like you could kinda just change directions whenever. That button was buggy.

The last two lines are true, but for gaming in general.

tl:dr: some reasions can be consistency, comparing themselves to folks they see as better, or just not being more open-minded (or jaded) to how the rest of the population is.

Non-tl:dr:

I don't do this sorta thing anymore, tho the "i am a bad player" comment comes from a few things:

-Lack of consistency (there's always a win and lose, that's just how it is. but being in the pit where some players have a more solid style vs. you would make you question if you're at a good or great skill level. )

-players that are plain better/Comparisons
( you got some folk out there that dominate not with gear, but with absolute piloting and prowess, It may be a diamond in a rough, but once you see them? You'll be harboring reconsiderations on your ability to pilot.
*One example would be a few years ago. had some matches that I had with Kurtzpal( who was a BM(No 3rd job) vs my FB. Simply put, he was the greater pilot with a more adaptive playstyle. He harbored great reads while I was readable, had his flashiness down to a science(say, his stepping, x-drops, zz loops, sweeps, etc), and instead of me focusing on killing his reads, I tried to see if i could take his style. . . that crashed and burned.
for that case, that told me that I needed to go back to the drawing board, get my stuff together and/or play more, and fix my issues of being easy to read(still a problem to this day, albeit less)

Semi-jadedness or ignorance( This is subjective )
(sometimes you don't get to see if you are better than you seem, as you don't often focus on the people you compete with, as you're trying to surpass, or become the ideal you sought to become (be it better than Player X or the top players that you see). Mind you, I still hold respect to those I fight, I just want to be the best that I can become. (I was given a good reality check thanks to some great guildies) 1/2

Some folks believe that if it wasn't for the difference in power, RNG, or a lucky catch, you could turn things around. and gear has such a massive impact, pressence, and decisive factor in arena to the point that a SoA with stages can turn the tide around, even if you don't got the ability to "play well enough" to your ideal.

lastly:

Rust
Don't pvp for a while? you may not be at your peak, or just not the best in your eyes. and I could see that being a factor. as you got folks who are truly truly rusty, but were absolute menaces in arena ages ago (talking S2 to s5 when arena was more active). Seen it from a few folks( Sazerac for example who idk will ever derust, but god have mercy if he does due to how he pilots.)

• then again, this can just be a over-estimation of the self, and it just requires the reduction in expectations. Same thing applies to Tekken(been playing that for a bit), League, and Even racing games.

but on a serious note, I can believe in the Gear/Power gap being the biggest factor on why they say (im a bad player, I do no dmg, I am not strong), there's a lot of folks who got a great amount of power that hop into arena, and it gives a grand reality check of the current state of this game, be it for good or bad.
