elrian cannot be used during a knocked down state, only during a hitstunned state
and even then it still keeps the hitstun time, as it only pauses your character

there was a bug Idk if it was with DB's CDA passive or MPx's Seal of Time that it could reduce its CD

which is a common thing among new games just like Apex when came out it was all kill now its all hide
so back then, ppl would normally KD opponents
so Raven doing x drops essentially resetting KD and catching off of it was seen as "pro" (ppl didnt know what was timing or pressing down to make it connect, everyone just instantly pressed X which made it impossible to catch afterwards), especially for Blade Masters who'd do like ZZZXZ ^X instead of ZZXX ^X
but the game has clearly changed so much since + now people actually know about maintaining KD and many other stuff so X drop is now a very basic tool
Eve players were considered the true pros of the game in those times though because she had the weirdest move control (and still does) and weird hitboxes so she was considered hard to play, so anyone that mastered her and had good rank (C or higher) was pro player

The only two things I can reccomend are to get a second artifact armor and put hp on it. with red. damage as the spirit effect. As well as focus on Re-iding your duelist gear for double HP
You could also reid your weapon just for the sake of double lines mag
or you could get some better secondary stats
