You guys should go back to making a game engine specifically for the next game. I hate to bring it up bc it’s so cringe to me but reflex was so good solely because it had its own engine tailored to the game physics and I feel that’s what legends missed. IMO the unreal engines are just bad. I’ve personally never been a fan of UE. I think you guys making your own engine or if you could even remastering the old reflex engine would make a huge difference gameplay wise, not that I don’t enjoy legends. I play every day lol. I just think given the fact making a motocross game is brutal it would make it a lot easier on you guys when it comes to physics and updates if it was its own again. But I could be way wrong.

I think if they could afford to do so, they possibly would. But I don’t think that’s necessarily in the time or budget constraints they have at this point. I really wish they had the chance to do that though as well seeing how it allowed us the opportunity to make custom tracks and implement them into the game on PC as well without having to worry about Unreal’s lame rules

Would cost way too much money, resources to make a custom built engine, it would be easy if you had 200+ graphics developers like the reflex days but the studio is not huge anymore it's easier to use UE. You can tailor the engine to your own needs and custom built graphics, physics pipelines are possible like a custom engine, days gone was a UE game and they made custom engine parts and UE ended up supporting it, it is up to the developers vision on how they want to push it, Reflex is a lost cause in terms of trying to replicate it completely again in terms of physics ect as all of that data is lost as they used their own compiler which was removed from the source code so they have to re-work from the ground up. My only issue with UE is the taa and LOD pop in, saving large amounts of data can have issues still.

I actually didn’t know that, I wasn’t saying to replicate reflex I just figured it was so good bc of its own engine. I knew it’d be expensive but was unaware of the man power needed, damn shame. I’ve always just thought UE put too much emphasis on graphics over gameplay but worth a mention atleast I guess incase things get better than anticipated. Wasn’t too hopeful on the idea but worse they’d do is say no 😂

yeah sadly creating custom engine tech for a game of our scope and technical requirements would hugely exceed the full budget of the last 3 MvA games combined (for just the engine)

Yeah I was over estimating by a long shot haha but yeah the size was much different and I think Unreal engine is doing well for the game.
