The first one is best done with a mod that makes passive mobs aggressive, a loot table editor, and some texture pack trickery.

Hey yall! Right now I have a server with the Valhelsia 3 modpack for 1.16.5. I think it's got a nice mix of tech, magic, rpg and exploration. I also like the MineColonies mod that gives players a town to manage. I do miss classic mods like Galacticraft, Witchery and Thaumcraft though.

So I've got 4 questions for you:

1. What are your favorite modpacks?
2. What would you deem are the best modpacks for the most recent versions of Minecraft?
3. What classic mods are you missing from the old days?
4. Do you know of any great alternatives to Galacicraft, Witchery and/or Thaumcraft? Maybe they still exist but go under different names?

Worth mentioning is that I still haven't explored Valhelsia 3 so if any of the mods I mentioned are in it, but go by different names, I'd really appreciate the heads up!

Anything in 1.12 and mainly custom mod packs but definite top 3 are MCE,hexxit updated, and RLcraft.
And nothing interesting has really come up in the newer versions. I dunno why but they all are either super minimal or don’t really do anything too note worthy to remember as harsh as it sounds. And I do miss all of them. Specially from the glory days of 2012-2015 ish era Minecraft. And I’m sorry to say that wicherys closest reincarnation has to be a mod called occultism and galacticraft isn’t really supported any more but there’s alternatives like advanced rocketry. And thaumpcraft has sadly been discontinued from what we can tell but I hear rumors of development but also I don’t believe it.

Hi again! I'm trying my ways with ComputerCraft. I want to play music on my computer and I'm trying to do that with >speaker play [LINK TO AUDIO]. It works so far that it counts it as a success and starts playing it, no matter if it's .ogg or .mp3. The problem is that the sound is so heavily distorted that it sounds like white noise. I'm looking for a mod that adds a form of wave defense / base defense sort of gimmick. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but- hmm. Every so often (whether triggered or waited for) a raid/siege/invasion/incursion will begin, and mobs will en masse begin assaulting the base.
I'm helping create an SMP with Origins and Twilight Forest (believe it or not, they're compatible now, in fabric). The goal is to defend the center base and prevent it from being overrun whilst the players also try to beat the Twilight Forest. Sort of like an unholy amalgamation of the Origins and OneHouse SMP as well as all those "I put 100 players to ____" videos.
Of course, the only version they're compatible with is Fabric 1.18.2.
