If it were 1.20, I might've known a few.
Personally, a lot of the mods that actually make the Nether/End decent tend to be the ones that don't just involve their dimensions specifically.
Problem is that on 1.21? There's... really not much that fits that criteria. There was hardly any on 1.20 that were notable as-is.
(It's also largely why I choose to nuke those dimensions in personal packs.)

I would use a major version and try to find a similar mod or ask the dev if they can make a version for that or give permission for you to get someone else to do so

Major versions currently are

1.20.1- Most modded version currently, with the most large content mods
1.21.1- Most stable version while still having lots of content and support
and also mby 26.1 as its the newest major release/version with lots of internal changes, but bc its new not many content mods

So, if they currently have a recipe, you need something to remove that recipe, and then it can only be obtained through creative mode or commands.

7ZIP is simply a software used to open various files and/or compress thing into ZIP files.
Generally pretty handy to have, but not required for most users out there.

It'll end up looking like this when you open a mod.

• 1. Use assets for textures, sounds, etc. (ResourcePacks)
• 2. Use data for recipes, loot tables, biome generation, etc. (DataPacks)

Everything else is generally unimportant, so only really look in there if you know what you're doing.

And I have to emphasize this: Copy the files you need, don't edit them directly.
Changing the mod's details can get uhhh... dangerously buggy.

(Hence why you make a Datapack, which can override them in a safe way.)

The .jar version is a mod and needs to be put in the mods folder and to be compatible with your game version and mod loader.
If you want the datapack version, you need to download the one that says Data Pack and will be a .zip, it's then put into the world/datapacks folder.

i have an issue and the discord for the pack im playing on isnt really being helpful/doesnt seem to know what im talking about. im hoping this issue sounds familiar to someone else so i can either remove the culprit mod or find a config or something.

im trying to find the right blend of world gen mods....i have or have tried: terralith, tectonic, oh the biomes weve gone, regions unexplored and nature's spirit for the overworld.
I really like tectonic for a base world gen mod. the more expansive feel and larger biome sizes makes it feel more realistic. but when i add in the other biome generation mods it just ends up looking like a disjointed patchwork quilt of oddly placed and small bioms. all the biomes themselves look really great, but all together it ruins the overall feel of the world.

anyone have suggestions on a good set of world gen with tectonic as a base that can give a little nicer feel to the world? also im not sure which mod/mods combo they are from, but the massive selection of logs/planks from new tree types is a big plus as well.

tectonic shouldnt translate to the nether but id say to just not put a mod like tectonic
world gen could be weird in some worlds and in some good enough
u could do regions explored with tectonic and then add one biome mod at a time till u see it starting to break

just make sure not to add biome mods to an existing past world cuz the biome will replace other biomes and thats where in my opinion looks like a weird splat.
